Valby is the one who might be the great white hope to challenge the Africans one day. It is likely to be Valby, not Tuohy, who makes it to Paris next year. Tuohey is great and nothing against her, but Valby won the genetics lottery between the two. Valby's legs are about 4 inches longer. Also Valby might be the next American steeplechase great.
Haile G.- 5'5
Kenesia B. - 5'5

I'm thinking height (or leg length) is not a determining factor.
WTF!
Ikr? Another example, Faith Kipyegon. She is 5’2” and she’s a pretty good distance runner.
Bitter much. Another year of maniacical hyperbole, posting under tons of different names, and going crazy all just to have reality dash your schoolboy fantasy yet again... Enjoy valbys runner up finish.
Also a stopwatch and a starting gun are two of the common items in the running world...
I've never heard of them using a start watch at a race. Just another thing you got wrong... We'll add that to the list of your dozens of crazy assessments
Thank you for posting this. This video, along with the NXN video posted on a different thread (the one with Abrahamson interviewing). They are interesting historical sound bites to this story, and may be unfamiliar to some that haven’t followed it as closely.
Couple questions:
(1) Did Abrahamson do the voiceover for this commercial? (It sounded like her voice.)
(2) What protein powders/shakes does Tuohy use; they seem pretty effective.

To add to the historical backdrop, it may now be appropriate to post something here, a “Dear Parker Valby” letter I came across, “Open Letter From HS Coach To FL 3200m State Record Holder”:

1. What is the NCAA Champs XC course and how does it compare to LY?
2. What do we expect conditions to be like?
My guess: Tuohy doesn't try and let Valby get too big of a gap and will work to cut it down and hope she timed her effort perfectly like in 2022. But it will be nuanced, as Valby is tremendously fit.
You know I always think about weapons (as a betting man). If KT is your gal, you are thinking, she can clearly win front running as she has done dozens of times, she has a better kick so sit and kick is an option, and the thing that scares me is she let the second best XC athlete in the country get a gigantic gap last year and still ran her down and then some! So, you never know, but I am a PV fan by a smidge (underdog) but im thinking she has one way to win and KT has a whole bag of tricks. It all comes down to timing on the fitness. But PV looks as peaked as she ever will be in the last 2 weeks. This is her time if there was.
This is what the sport needed (in the USA). We've got two home-grown talents that are at the top of the amateur pyramid going as big as anyone has ever gone.
The fact that this has 150+ posts and Nico Young vs. Ky Robinson is nowhere to be found. Shows that the women have the best narrative: history, excellence, team championships, records, everything.

...And, the dumbest-comment-of-the-day award goes to...
What did I say that you disagree with?
Well pretty much every piece of it was impressively stupid, so I didn't bother picking and choosing.
-Your conclusion that Valby's peak fitness last year was '15:20s' is super-dumb.
-She very clearly *has* been substantially undertrained compared to most elite college runners, and very clearly *has* been on a steeper improvement-curve --so that was really stupid, too.
-An estimate of her current fitness has *zero* to do with belief that she's clean, so that was just idiotic.
-That said, *your* estimate is probably wrong, and your estimate for Tuohy is completely moronic.
-It's not clear WTF you're trying to say about 14:45, but it's a great bet it makes zero sense.
-Your apparent conclusion that she's taking EPO is based on *nothing.*
So yeah, you made about 8 overt or implicit points in that short post, and every single one was utterly idiotic.

Neither is at the top. #8 and #19 in the world is the top of the pyramid.

Tuohy is a boss... love that video, but won't show it to my daughter so she doesn't start cross training!!
