The best way to get rid of stress is to get off social media. Focus on the few people that actually care about you and pursue your dreams.
It’s not a coincidence that we’ve seen a rise in “mental illness” in conjunction with the smartphone. Unplug and focus on the aforementioned. There’s a lot of nasty insecure people in this world (many on this site) that look to tear down to ease their own insecurities. Social media gives them too easy a platform to spread their toxicity.
It is how the new generation learned to make a living without working desk corporate job.
I follow Allie and I think her Public Transparency is keeping herself accountable and part of healing process and I applaud her for it even thought I personally think ED among athletes is totally different Demon that requires sport nutritionists rather than mental health therapists.
I often wonder how often sponsored athletes get their blood work done for nutritional deficiencies, hormone, vitamin levels, etc. I would think physicals would reveal the damage done by eating disorders to prevent it.

Well, she smoked him in a pullups contest and in a pushups contest. There is no evidence that SB could even finish the Mt Marathon.
I expect nice honest and blunt comments from the savages here when I make a comment. But I agree that people that openly express their mental challenges but trying to compete at the pro level should be excluded from our savagery because they're being honest. And the comments effect them very differently in a manner we don't understand but they're being honest. Today's world is media influenced whether we agree or not and they're just trying to participate. Our only updates should be to learn if Allie and Seidel are doing fine but please remember the savage comments has a different influence on them than myself and all the other ssvsges here. They are trying to be helpful to let us know how mentally challenging it is to compete at a pro level when you need to be mentally in a good state of mind. I love reading the savagery but those that are struggling yet still sharing publicly with us deserve a pass from our savagery. Let's hope Allie gets to a well being state of mind. And i still love letsrun, it presses forward with honesty despite the controversy. Love the savages too.lol

I watched the video and got the sense that she was just hitting a low point in life in ways that aren’t really justified by outside circumstances.
like, if a person has a specific situation that is going on, they can feel kinda justified in saying, „I’m going through a divorce and it’s a rough time for me right now“, or „I fell off the wagon and getting my sobriety back is probably going to be really rough“. But when a person is in the toilet emotionally but can’t point to a particular situation, it can be weird and distressing in its own way.

why do people watch youtube videos like this? there's so many better/higher quality videos out there that perform way worse on metrics. Not really a critique of her, but of the youtube audience I suppose
As someone who has struggled with mental health issues and talked about them publicly (on a much smaller scale), I don't think there's a right or wrong way to do it. But you do have to know as the person who is sharing that once you open up, you are going to be subject to criticism. Being transparent can be helpful and I'm sure Allie has had a huge impact in helping others seek help as well. But the downside is that it can be easy to lose yourself and your own recovery in all the social media posting and you can start to feel like a fraud.
So I don't agree with the people who say people shouldn't comment on it: it's a hazard you have to understand when you are a public figure and have a platform like that. I do hope it's not having a huge negative impact on Allie and she's taking care of herself.
