Some of you talk about her getting bigger and stronger, but if you look where her ultimate top potential is, I think Touhy has a better chance at the American record in the 5000 than the 1500. She just doesn't have the speed to run mid-3:50s. But I can see her running sub-14:30 this year or the next.
She was there cheering on her teammates. Look for her to try to break 4 minutes in the 1500M next week at Duke.
I could, however, envision a scenario where she turns pro (Adidas) in the Fall but continues to live in Raleigh and train under Henes for the time being.

Toughy! Out and about. Fall, any inkling if fall is post xc?
Not sure she's in the neighborhood of being able to run sub-4, but it would make sense to possibly run the 1500 at Duke against Amina Maatoug and both could knock out regional qualifiers. Maatoug is likely going to Mt. Sac or Brian Clay the next weekend though. The Wolfpack have a trip to Gainesville on their schedule for the following weekend. Not sure if she's healthy but a 5000m matchup with Valby could be a fast time for both. I would not be surprised to see Tuohy only race 2-3 times tops before ACCs including Penn Relays.

I agree sub 4 seems like a stretch to me.
Sub 14:50 looks more likely based off the 3k and mile, but I could be wrong.

Wow is that insider info? That would be huge ... Will they have pacers at Duke?
Look for a certain NC State sophomore to be setting the pace.
Myyght it be soomeoone thaat we knoow?
Kt really consolidated at the 4:24 mile number (Millrose, jdl, acc), so it would not be a shock if she pr'd again, even 4:02-4:04 would be excellent. Nice chance for Maaatoug, Tyynismaaa and Buuush? to go low also.
Sinclair Johnson is #2 at 4:05.98 (Touhy already #7 at 4:06.84)(Tyynismaa pr 4:09.48)
Simpson's #1 3:59.90 was a huge outlier ran at the Pre DL meet in its usual June slot.

Okay folks (and this seriously is NOT a joke). If TUFFY says it, it tends to happen. Seriously.
I hope her agents and sponsors realize that there's way more value in staying in school and being one of the greatest college athletes ever
No one cares about pro running in America! Literally no one! College running gets probably 10 times as much exposure in America! I have to think that people working with her realize this
She will use all her eligibility!!! Every single semester!!!
Are you aware of the concept of poetic license? Are you one of them literalists?
Do u take everything literally? Like if I say it's as hot as an oven out, do you think it is 400°?
I think you might be one of them there literalists...
You really think she wants to live alone in Europe and run on the diamond league in the next few years?
What the hell obviously is big NIL money these days... Winning in college is where it's at right now. Think you might be one of them there literals ists s
When you restate something g using the word "literally", you told your audience to take the statement literally. If you want to back down, everyone I know is a fan of pro running as much as college running.
