The announcers constantly calling him coach prime is embarrassing.

Why?

The coach can get skilled players at the typical skill positions. As the Oregon game (along with UCLA) showed, their lines are shaky. His long-term success will be based on recruiting players in the trenches.

I hope that his son doesn't get crunched before a decent line forms.

Shedeur has 3 seasons of eligibility left, so there is no question that when coach fixes the OL, they will be staring down at least a couple of national championships.

I believe he’s very likely to resign before next year. He likes attention and that’s not something coaches of .500 teams get a lot of.

If he fails here and is ousted, his career as a coach is done. His broadcast career has long been done. It might be the last we hear of him outside his QB son in the NFL.

he entered in spring 2021. he has 3 years of stats. colorado calls him a "junior". i think he has max 2 years left. you're also assuming he uses it all up.

if you look it up he apparently has a five year deal with CU for $5.9m where if he's fired without cause they have to pay him 75% of what's left. a mediocre year is probably not with cause, and firing him after one year would probably cost ~ $15m. so wish all you want -- it's not happening.

conversely he has a buyout each year that reduces in how much he has to pay. $15m year 1, $10m year 2, $8m year 3. that number would have to drop down to something a rival would be willing to pay. i don't see him or a college paying $15m nor do i see him leaving his kid at colorado with another coach.

i think he lasts 2-3 years.

my deal on sanders is from the perspective of a former college athlete, if you punt 70 non-graduates into the portal that is incredibly disloyal to kids and personally i think you messed up if you recruit 70 people -- almost a whole new team -- to finish mid-conference and .500-ish, maybe be bowl eligible, offensive line a mess. how do you churn almost a whole team and not have pass protection? and what's he gonna do, tell another 20-30 to hit the portal?

the way he rolls, it's some racial stuff the way people respond, to me, it's more about if you're gonna do that you gotta back it up. he hasn't.

95% of me obviously thinks it's awful and sh-tty that someone went into a locker room and stole things that weren't theirs. Even if someone stole a pair of socks it's still totally unacceptable.

5% of me wonders why college kids need to turn up to football games with swathes of jewelry and bling in the first place and hey, if you have that sort of money then it's all insured right?

Deion is doing great, yes it will take more than one season. Get some big guys in there and Colorado will be fine,

Even having a team which is winless would not be a firing for cause. For cause is a Michigan St. situation.
