She is going to play second fiddle to Valby the rest of the way.
This is another interpretation, based upon what she followed up her comment with, that it’s her last chance “because it’s getting more competitive.”
She said it's getting more competitive now, especially at championships so "will have to see, will have to try my best". She's just acknowledging that there is stiff competition and nothing is guaranteed
The way I took her words in that clip was to mean that "this" (indoors) was the last of the three seasons (cross country, indoor, and outdoor) that she hadn't yet won an NCAA title ("gotten one"). I think she means she'll have a trifecta of titles across fall, winter, and spring if she can win a title at indoor NCAA nationals this year, not necessarily that she won't be competing in any more seasons after this year.
It is crazy you got so many upvotes when your interpretation is obviously incorrect. She was talking specifically about getting an indoor title, and then let it slip that this is the last season to try.
After playing that clip back and listening a number of times, it’s possible she was just not being very precise with her word selections (she sounds a bit tired), so who knows.

Already backpeddling? And you sounded so sure of yourself with your faulty view of her comments.
From the very first post, this thread has been about bozos INCORRECTLY interpreting her comment.
It's obvious that Tuohy was only referring to indoor as the "last" season (of the 3, indoor, outdoor, XC) that she has yet to win a title in. It has nothing to do with this being that last time she runs indoor, or the last time she goes for a title in any of the 3 seasons.
Wrong. Regardless of that clip and what she said it, has nothing to do with whether she will in fact run her last collegiate indoor season this spring.

Is this how Stanford teaches writing? I can barely decipher the point you are trying to make here.
Are you saying that Tuohy is currently running her last indoor season?
The point is I’m not alone in thinking she will not run for NC State next Indoors. The clip brought that consciousness to the table, front and center. You should just accept it, and move on.

LMFAO. "Just accept" your blatantly wrong interpretation of those comments? Hahahahahaa
The comments CLEARLY indicate what I just said a few posts ago, about this being the "last" season (of the 3) that she has yet to win a title.
You have ZERO evidence to know that Tuohy will not run indoors in 2024, because this little clip does NOT prove what you think it does.
It slipped out in the interview. She sounded tired, thus reasoning for her guard down. But the reasons others can see, driving the suspicions. These things are too unpleasant for the sick stalker fan with the multiple handles on this board.

You've got to be trolling. You seriously would have us believe that Tuohy would mean to say that this indoor season is her "last chance" to win a title, because her competition is about to overtake her??
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAA
This is only slightly less believable than your false claim that her comments also "prove" that this will be the last season she ever competes in collegiately.

Uh huh, sure buddy. According to you, do those comments also "prove" that Tuohy won't compete in the outdoor season here in a few weeks? Is this indoor season her "last season"?? Haha
And what exactly was that bargain? I missed the post by asto, if there was one by him on this. Please enlighten us. Don't speak in riddles or keep secrets.

As I said before, I believe she let it slip out that 2023 will see the end of her NCAA career and she will turn pro by 2024 for 3 reasons:
1) she will have graduated
2) there will be nothing left to prove at the college level
3) it will be time to join her old teammates who have turned pro and are competing at the international levels in the Diamond League among the elite and are prepping for the Paris Olympics
