People who cite Megan Rapinoe never bring up Martina Navratilova, Riley Gaines, Emma Mckeon, and the numerous female athletes who have signed on and spoken out against trans athletes in womens sports. Or organizations like Fair Play for Women, ICONS women and others.

You also only have to look at the issue a little bit to understand the harassment and brutality that women face for trying to even organize on this topic and even just discuss their rights. That's why Amelia is brave. So many agree with her but she has the guts to say what everyone is thinking.

It obviously depends on where you live. In Red states, you can say women's sports are for women, and transwomen are men. Where I live, that would not go over well.

So??? That does not make women like Rapinoe and Parker clueless about sports? It's normal to have differences of opinions on a relatively new issue like this. Do you think all women should speak with one voice and anyone who dissents is a traitor?

The reason I broght up Rapinoe and other women is that Salvitore Stitchmo claimed only women who were totally ignorant about sports supported trans inclusion. Do you agree with his comment?

Ignorant? You know what's ignorant - believing that people in this world, men and women, have no ulterior motives and agendas for the causes they "support". Since you like using Megan Rapinoe as your "example of a female sportsperson that knows sport and so must be right" - let's use her as the example. Rapinoe is at the end of her career, has made her millions, never herself had to encounter transgender athletes potentially compromising her career or earnings - so easy to jump on a cause for your own promotion/agenda. Rapinoe has already stuck her foot into the political world as a "champion" for LGBTQ rights which is completely fine - but you really think it's inconceivable that her support of transgender women competing in competitive sport is nothing more than political posturing? It's the same with Candace Parker - funnily enough another gay woman who made her fortune thanks to being able to play basketball as a woman vs other women. Billie Jean King, another gay woman who made her fortune thanks to being able to play tennis as a woman vs other women. You don't see a pattern here? This is more about ideological stubbornness than it logical and rational reasoning.

There are reasonable fairness arguments one could make to exclude trans women, but this one is strange and strangely worded. Her third sentence is an impractical wish that doesn’t seem connected to the second, and the second by itself sounds arbitrary. She seems to be saying that if Thomas was winning as a man, it would be okay to let her win as a woman?

Yes, she does seem to be saying that.

I prefer Martina's initial comments, that "there is no place for a penis in women's sports". She got it right the first time.

Nowhere near as badly as LGBTQ+ people in general, and trans in particular, get harassed every day. These kids are committing suicide. If allowing them to live their life as their xhised gender, and that includes sports, saves even 1 it is worth it. Inclusivity trump's fairness.

The suicide statistics are flawed because many trans-identified people have one or more comorbid mental health disorders. When compared to others who have similar mental health disorders, suicide rates are similar.

The IOC didn't change the rules until 2016. Prior to that, all "transwomen" needed to have surgery to remove their testicles - sex reassignment surgery. Since most "transwomen" aren't interested in living without a functioning penis, there only one or two competitors. (About 90% of trans identified males DO NOT have sex reassignment surgery.)

The IOC didn't allow "unfixed" athletes to compete before they changed the rules in 2016. Most trans identified males (approximately 90%) keep their penises, and don't want sex reassignment surgery, so, of course, there were few, if any "transwomen' competing. We are just now seeing the effects of allowing males to compete in female competitions.

The IOC didn't allow men who didn't have sex reassignment surgery to compete prior to changing the rule in 2016. The vast majority of trans identified males do not have and do not want their penis and testicles removed, so we are just now seeing these males in female sports.

I think a reason for this is because the people who claim to care most about these types of causes tend to be the most narcissistic types who want to hog as much attention to themselves as possible. Normal, reasonable people don't make the news or get likes and views on social media - loud, self-righteous narcissists who pose as "activists" do, and that's exactly what people like Rapino are. Too bad so many people fall for the grift.
