People make all kinds of dumb predictions on this site.....
Yes. Some of the predictions here are way out in left field.
Irene Riggs will win by 30 seconds. Tuohy sub 15, Valby 14:40. McLaughlin and Mu should break the 400 and 800 world records any day now. Can't wait to hear what wacky prediction is next.
Omg he's talking about me!!!
Lol I'm not disappointed though. Like I said earlier I like this meet because if people run fast it bodes well for the future, and if people run poorly then it doesn't matter at all. Tuohy didn't even run badly though, I don't think anyone is gonna say 1 second off your PR as soon as the season starts is a bad performance. She said she was eyeing sub-15, and I thought she'd be ready to do it, but it's December 3rd so I'm not surprised nor disappointed that she didn't. I do still think that as soon as she gets into a race that's paced for it, she'll go sub-15.
Yeah, honestly, you guys are mad when people dope. But you’re also mad when they act like humans and have an off day. Humans can’t be sharp year around.

Count me in the camp that thinks Henes and Tuohy would not have talked publicly about breaking 15 if she wasn't running times that indicate it in is possible in practices. She didn't have it today, that's fine.
Watching the race on flotrack I could tell in the second half she did not feel great. I hope she is not discouraged by running 'only' 15:15, and gets a solid break to come back stronger.

Prepare to be disappointed with your latest prediction. Sub 15 is HARD for a college woman.
I wish I could bet money against people's incredibly optimistic predictions. I'd be rich!
One hundred percent correct. She even checked with her coach and Henes is very careful with these type of projections. Her workouts were indicating it but the physical and mental drain of winning the national title and just getting worn down by the season made it impracticable.
A couple of women that Tuohy beat easily ran 8:50 today, which is as good as her 15:15, so yeah Tuohy had a bit of an "off" race. I would be shocked if either her or Valby, probably both, doesn't go sub-15 in the next six months, though.
The men really stepped up today though, though Young was a bit jaded as well.
