The Oklahoma State Cross Country Course is only open to OSU Cross Country and Track & Field. 10K Map | 8K Map | 6K Map | 5K Map Oklahoma State University unveiled
it is working...you just need to click on the blue link below....not the all-trails.com. but this only shows the 5k map...which seems very different than what is run.

Excellent.
I don’t think that’s the actual course and/or direction they’ll run but gives folks an idea of the elevations at certain points.

If you omit the rectangular portion in upper left that is the 2nd 3K of the W course. This profile starts at the bottom of the long hill at 2500 M. The W from 2500 M go up the hill at the start of this profile, take the right and then to proceed to cut in to where it says "OSU Cross Country Course" and then they keep going for there. On this profile, that point is at about 1.75 miles - right where there is a downhill shown (about 2000 Meters from the end of this profile). You can see all of these hills in the YT video of the 2020 W race.
Is that seriously the course record? That would be surprising....not saying you are wrong, just that I would have expected lower. But if that is the case, then I would expect the record to be broken IF the conditions are decent. But wet and windy could change that.
Are you kidding? That course is hell. It was much worse in the 90s (it’s now almost paved and sure-footed golf course to the rough terrain of before, which must make it quite a lot faster in comparison). We also used to start on the bottom of the long hill as I recall (now the long hill in to the finish). However, though swifter and durer underfoot, those hills haven’t disappeared…it’s still a very tough, challenging ‘proper’ cross country course, unlike most courses these days. A time comparison is truly meaningless.
so I wasn't trying to say the course should be faster...I watched the race in 2021 and did not think the middle section was run that quickly...so I assumed the course record would be at least 15 seconds below Mercy's time. When was the course redone?
BTW, I completely agree on making XC courses harder....running 6km on a flat golf course seems silly. I think a 20:30 - 21:00 should be a winning time for 6km XC. The more hills the better...

If you hear someone say “them thar hills” in relation to the course folks will be running that day, good chance it’s gonna be awesome!
Whatever happened to hay bales, creeks, etc. anyway?
the only part that is different for the W is the western straightaway used for the start out to where the current map says 4K. the start line has changed and presumably the finish but the bulk of the course route is still the same.

to help you see it I drew in a solid blue line for W 1st 3k and a dashed blue line for W 2nd 3K on the pic I linked to.
I must be looking at the wrong link...when I click the link from Post 144, I just see the 5km loop. I did bring up the OSU Map and put it on Alltrails as well (which was a great idea to see elevation changes).
I did a quick comparison of the elevation changes on this course vs the ole miss golf course...yup, this course is going to cause some pain!!!
If I can figure out how to use Google Drive I will post.
Thinking is Alabama will likely not make the podium, so there 1-3 will not be holding back, with Chelangat putting distance on the other two. They still could sneak onto the podium anyway, depending on circumstances.
I disagree. Alabama absolutely has a very real shot at the podium this year. Unless notre dame upends them, they are pretty much a lock for atleast #4.
And if Bama’s 5th has the race of her life, they could absolutely win the Team Trophy.

Well, that could be said for a few teams. In Alabama’s case, I think that Machan, Walters and Reed are just way too far back to have enough impact unless they can pass well over 100 runners ahead of them.

I thought I had put the blue lines on the google drive pic but I had put them on the pic on my computer (: ...I reuploaded so they should be there now. Yes there are 2 climbs of ~70 ft, 3 of ~40 ft and then some other ups and downs. Besides just the change in elevation, these climbs are steep enough you can see runners have to change stride, unlike some more mild rolling ups and downs on other courses. The killer is the last 70 ft climb is near the finish so anyone badly tiring has a real problem hanging on.

Some of the climbs are significant enough to where the camera angle shows the up-close runners, and the ones behind DOWN the hill.
