What you need to understand is this has never been about what Mu actually did or didn’t do. This is people who dislike Mu for reasons they refuse to acknowledge and we’re not allowed to say without getting banned coming up with whatever reason they can manufacture to claim that they now only hate her because she’s “dirty.” The point is to manufacture a “big lie” knowing that people won’t check out the facts and over time will forget where it even came from, intended to allow them to say things like “Lost all respect for Mu [they never had any] and will never cheer for such a dirty racer.” Look at Coevett already riding that narrative.
The point is just to create a negative narrative, repeat it, pretend it’s real, and use it to justify being hateful and negative towards her. If it wasn’t this, it would be something else they made up. If she had lost it would be multiple threads saying her career is over, she was a flash in the pan, got cocky, whatever they can make up.
They tried when she missed a race with covid. They tried to claim before that she’s not serious because she went to the beach when her season was over (meanwhile Hodgkinson was actually on the cover of British tabloids falling drunk out of bars after the Olympics - which is fine! Young people can have fun! - but the point is they’ll dog out Mu for maybe eating pizza at Worlds). They claimed she was “dodging Hodgkinson” and scared to race. They are desperate for anything they can use to try to discredit her and justify their negativity. They are salivating for the day she loses - which she eventually will, the 800m is extremely strong and competitive and eventually she’ll have a not great day when someone is having a good one - and then they’ll scream about how they were always right to tell us she ain’t sh*t.
They did it to Ahmed, starting threads to claim he’s “dirty” and tripped Fisher until video evidence showed what a lie that was. They do it to Chelimo, and also claim they just don’t like him because he’s an immigration cheat. Then they complain about US athletes settling and not racing tough, but want Mu DQ for...racing tough and holding her position. They claimed they only didn’t like Meb because they like American born athletes who came up in the system, then a young American born phenom like Mu comes up in the system and delivers under incredible pressure and they rush to start half a dozen threads calling her stupid, a bad racer, a cheat, dirty.
