I doubt that he has any involvement with the middle school kids. Besides it being against the rules these clubs have had some success over the years and they have good coaches. Don't forget that before Newbury Park became a thing other schools in the area have produced some very good runners that came from these clubs. Even now, with all the publicity that NP has been receiving some kids manage to find their way to other schools and do fairly well. For example, Jonah Bazerkanian, a junior at Royal H.S. in Simi Valley, finished 3rd in the state meet at 4:11.89 and has also run 9:04 + in the 3200.

None of them are actually from Newbury Park. Hmmmm. I’m sure it’s all on the up and up. I highly doubt Brosnan has been in touch with Micah Dikran and been training him before he was allowed.
Maybe Dickran and other solid NP 8th and 9th graders will be training with Lex and Leo at Big Bear if they see the L/L videos on YouTube about it and somehow contact the Youngs about it.
Sounds like anyone is allowed to train with Newbury Park at Big Bear, regardless of whether they go there or not. Isaiah Givens trained with them there last year. So did Noah Sloan who was going into 8th grade.

Wayzata had 4 8th graders go sub-5 in 2012.

Only 2 of them stuck with CC for all 4 years. Only one of them made top 7 for CC.
