Was super electric. Although there is a little roll to the course, other than the 250 meter hill there is really no rhythm breaker. Packed surface with the new shoes equals some additional help compared to a heavier grass course. The width of the course is really a key feature, sweeping turns with lots of room to move.

The course I helped measure was a dual meet type course and had a couple of insane inclines and small stream crossing.
For the other courses I mention I believe they were done entirely with the jones counter. They used the standard road racing measurement guidelines measuring the tangents of the course.
That makes sense but doesn't equate since that portion of the course is taken away by the fans standing on the lines leaning out on the course to cheer take photos/video.

Off of that pace they would have to crank a 4:22 final mile to run a 14:03 3 Mile and Lex and Leo would have run a 4:24 final mile to run the stated 14:05. With that being said we are talking a final 1.11 Mile in 4:22 and 4:24 which means the 3 cranked out 3:56, 3:58, and 3:58 for the final mile. I am seeing this a lot with courses for example Louisville on the college side I ran 29:05 for 10,000m and ran 24:51 at Louisville and a bunch of D3 guys with 29:50 to 30:20 10,000m bests are cracking 24 on that course? I also notice they are altering courses makinng them basically tracks on a golf course to almost clean out the cabinet and get rid of the expiered food being older records.
It's so sad we do this every year.

That wasn’t 2 mile, it was 2.1. Announcers had it wrong. They set split up at 2.1 to calculate last mile split. Go to the live results page if you don’t believe me.
You never know.
When they go out in 4:26 and run 8:58 at 2 miles, 13:37 at 3 miles, they're blazing.
But that 25 seconds from 3 miles to 3.1 miles, even downhill, is where things get somewhat fuzzy.
25 seconds for last 160 is 31 for last 200. I expected faster.

So, if I go run the course that will make it the correct distance?
Do you have an aerial photo of the starting line, or one shot from the side as the runners were waiting to start behind the starting line?
What are you looking for? It is a starting line.
