But how is it different than what we see in every single race? In vritually every single distance race the winner wins in lane 2. Technically they should say in lane 1 and they are never DQd. How is this any different? The person behind you - and lets be real Fisher and Woody weren't in his league today - runs a little bit extra.

Chelimo is world class. Fisher and Kincaid are national class. Maybe they will amke the jump but they havent yet.

Let's see - Fisher pulled even with Chelimo with 400 to go - so he had 300m to get by him before the last 100m and couldn't do it. So don't complain when you can't get by over the last 100.
Kincaid lacks patience - tried to go 3 wide on the turn. stupid is as stupid does. If he waited, he has an inside run - clear shot - with 100m to go.
It's clear they have zero international experience.

I remember the first time I ever watched a pro-level championship distance race too.
If moving out up the home straight is a DQ (and it has to be taken off that basic principal because you can therefore make a case that even moving out to the edge of lane 1 and forcing a runner to run on the inside of lane two is an example of "impeding a runner"), then let's go back and DQ 75% of Olympic and World champs who have done exactly the same thing over the course of history.

In this case , it didn’t hurt who goes to the Olympics. If Fisher or Jerry have a complaint, they would certainly file it.
However, if that race was for 3rd…
You can bet it would be protested.

I am appalled that anyone on this, a running message board, would see that behavior as justifiable. Especially disappointed in the owners of this board as they should know better. Its a very straightforward rule and for good purpose, with out it runners everywhere would be instructed to cut people off indiscriminately at the finish and it will destroy events like the 1500m. If you have your runners close in a 53 second last 400m, the rest should take care of itself.
