Similarly saying "they have been employing lawfare against Trump" is not necessarily a flat out lie, although it's a moving in the direction of the lie that fishface told. I say odds go toward trump. People want his drama and entertainment skillz, not more Dem policy and good government. If he just doesn't poop on stage he'll be the 'winner.'
I think the safe bet is this moves the betting odds needle in his favor given how low the bar is. While unlikely for either one, I think trump may be more susceptible though to getting played badly by the other. He's been really losing all touch with reality and if he comes in knowing it's neck and neck he might be really tempted to say something even more crazy than usual if poked. I think he's going to be otherwise boring and will just do the usual accordion gestures while dancing around questions and lying through his teeth. There will be no pushing him on substance or fact checking anything he says, so he's got the automatic advantage.

What they love about Trump is that the $hit that comes out of his mouth and his behaviors are so ridiculous and wrong that anyone who tries to respond to it is just helpless. You can't get into it with him because you have to then roll in the pig pen and he's the dirtiest pig of all. That's why the MSM does what it does and Ds lose when they take the bait.
