    Harris' campaign is risking a Hilary Clinton redux with a very wishy washy campaign on policy and hoping that voters will pick Harris because Trump is a bad guy. With Clinton, they thought the "grab her by the p-word", sex scandals, etc. would bring down Trump. With Harris, she thinks that Jan 6 and Trump being Trumpy is going to get enough voters to swing the election. The problem is that Trump has been extra Trumpy of late and no one really cares. Harris may be squandering her big initial bump lead by her K-hive online by not galvanizing support with big policy ideas.

    it's hard to say that indie or 'maybe I'll vote, maybe I won't' Americans want a wonky Democrat full of 'we're here from Washington to help you.' If you want policy you are already a voting Democrat. The goal is to get indies and low-knowledge Dems to show up. And maybe even a few Republicans utterly disgusted with Don Epstein. The Rs certainly will not be attracted by Dem policy. Repelled by it.

    I don't think a big policy could galvanize those three groups. They are not Democrats. They want something else. Harris thinks its normalcy, moderation, joy, fun, pointing out trump's faults, etc. Seems like a decent bet to me.

    Harris does have a full policy page with loads of policy, by the way.

    My read on the situation is that this is a change election so the swing voters just want something new and exciting. Trump is exciting. Policy is not to them.

    At least you didn't lie about anything. Characterizing a Manhattan office spokesperson as a "DOJ big shot" is an exaggeration, but it not a flat out factual lie. Similarly saying "they have been employing lawfare against Trump" is not necessarily a flat out lie, although it's a moving in the direction of the lie that fishface told. So you are to be commended from refraining from lying and just going to the threshold of the lie line that fishface crossed.

    The Obama administration Friday morning took another historic step in its aggressive defense of civil rights, sending a letter to schools across the country notifying them that transgender students must be permitted to use bathrooms that align with their gender identity.

    And of course Biden famously pushed Obama to accept same sex marriage as a piece of the Dem platform.

    But Musk's argument is that 'wokeism' is making people choose obviously false things in order to be politically correct. Mostly around gender issues right now. Harris would keep that going, trump would at least slow it down.

    On abortion...I think it's clear that a R president would try to eliminate abortions and have some success. This isn't much of an argument really. Through laws and $ and judges a R prez would have some success.

    So, I guess that the rock-solid single issue evangelicals are left with this: If the more anti-abortion candidate appears to be the anti-christ (literally!), I will, in fact, vote for the anti-christ.

    And since we don't fully know what Trump is capable of (did the Germans in 1933?), it MIGHT not be a super, super big exaggeration.

    Thinking about it more, I think that it's less what POTUS can and can't do to influence woke stuff, but rather whether it's qualitatively important enough to trump other things? It's just not.

    As you say, a view that you're "killing babies" is fairly hard to trump. But woke? Even if POTUS can influence woke significantly in either direction, it's just freakin' bogus to put that concern (bathrooms, drag....even affirmative active, which I largely dislike) over even a tiny fraction of what Trump represents. Am I willing to possibly lose a job to a clearly-less qualified black lesbian vegan witch if it means that we don't have a king? Of course.

    What you are doing is called conjecture. We don’t have to make assumptions to know that Biden finished near the bottom of his law school class and that Kamala went to law school through an affirmative action program and failed the bar exam on her first try. That is established.

    I've heard the three of them speak. And him the most, and by a nearly infinite margin, the worst.

    And I've heard cabinet members and other employees confirm how stupid/undisciplined/lazy he is. I've never heard that about Biden/Harris.

    A very, very reasonable conclusion on my part.
