I doubt no one coached young. Bettis has done nothing of what her write up mentions, but it's Georgia state, prob about right for what she's really done on her own. Lets all be serious, she has coached 0 All-Americans. Watched them practice, yes, coached, no. But the big names help on the resume.

Kinda on and off topic at the same time, but the movement in college coaching has been incredible since 2008! Seriously, with the trickle down effect to D-III there have been hundreds of changes/moves in the last 5 years. Wow. I remember when 25 moves a year was a "shake-up" year. Wonder what that says about and what the repercussions to college track are from this much movement. Very interesting to watch.

This is weird, I just read an article yesterday that he was named the Cincinatti Distance Coach. They got the good ol' okie dokie pulled on them! In the end I guess you have to do whats right for you and your family. Someone will always be left disappointed. This confirms that Hayes and Sisson are both most likely out at Texas.
Cincy took down their article on him being named coach. Crazy.
Woops. I hope the guy lands on his feet. Initially the world looks to be over but he will and a job somewhere.
My question would be after being supposedly fired for unfair reasons, are future employers still checking these social networking sources to get a feel for professionalism or character on prospective employees? If not, then does it really matter who reads them even if you are just pissed at the world? In other words, does it really matter that anyone reads your posts?

Thanks. To be honest UM was going to be my second guess after Illinois. If that is so, a very good pickup for UM with his throws and multis experience and high jump with Donald Thomas a few years ago.

Herbster accepted the coaching position at Cincinnati early this week after the position was offered. Background check was run and he was already emailing with the athletes on the team to touch base and introduce himself. It wasn't that he had the offers to both Texas and Cincinnati at the same time and chose Texas--HE ALREADY HAD THE JOB AT CINCINNATI AND QUIT 24 HOURS AFTER IT WAS MADE PUBLIC.
The transience of college coaches can be sickening.
He did us dirty.

Sorry to say this but that was the biggest waste of time in collegiate research history! According to your theory, coaches should get priority over 1 season? Who recruited, who coached, how much money is devoted, how are the vertical and multi's? Way too many variables to try to make an objective decision on a single season of inaccurate numbers alone. Impressive attempt though...
Combined with the vertical events included, plus the number of coaches for all events and within the 4 years researched. Multi events have too many coaches involved, sprint coach, throws coach, jumps coach.
Florida- (31) 5-6 coaches
LSU- (28) 1 coach
Arkansas- (26) 3 coaches
Nebraska- (22) 2-3 coaches
Florida State- (22) 1 coach
Virginia Tech- (17) 2 coaches
Texas A & M- (16) 1 coach
Couldn't agree more. It should also be noted that most of these top programs recruited kids who were already All-American caliber, not developed them.
There is a big difference in taking a 46'/22' TJ&LJ guy and developing him to 53'/25' than in getting a kid already jumping 50'+/24'+ out of high school.
