Asslouj will transfer to Texas A&M, and according to his social media, Luca Madeo is currently in Germany and has become German half-marathon champion (what the hell is he doing there???). Is he not racing anymore for Sowder? How does Cumberlands expect to win nationals then?
With Youseff Asslouj, Luca Madeo, and Serhii Shevchinko destined to leave the Cumberlands. Let's think of the future Landscape of NAIA XC Nationals this fall. Will the Cumberlands even have a shot at improving or defending there top three team placement without these heavy hitters?

Probably the same as before. Get kids that will use it as a juco basically. With NCAA roster imits robably a market for that.
Their sprints haven't been as good as I would have assumed when they signed all those transfers
Who says Madeo and Shevchenko will transfer to another university? Still, I doubt Madeo will run at the outdoor nationals, because he said on social media that he'll run the 10,000m at the German Nationals in a few weeks. But I don't quite understand it, because he said on the podcast two weeks ago that he'll run for Cumberlands, and he didn't even mention the German competitions.
NIL money out there any D1 marks by NAIA, D2 or 3 athletes will transfer to the cash. As a current athlete I would if I was fast enough. Get school paid for and pick up extra few thousand why not grab what you can while you can.

Outside of top level D1 guys and social media influencers, nobody is making real money off of NIL deals in track and field. Idk if you’ve heard but there’s like no money in our sport. Even most pros don’t make much so nobody’s shelling out material amounts of money to 14:00 5k guys. I don’t blame them for taking the offer if they get full rides to better institutions but NIL is not going to have any significant effect on the college track and field landscape.
On the other hand, NCAA roster limits are bound to result in some higher level talent ending up in the NAIA. A school like Cumberlands that’s able to give up big scholarships and function like a juco are in a prime position to capitalize off of it as fewer people will be able to go the direct D1 route.

German 10000m Nationals are at May 3. Madeo already has the standard for the U23 european championship mid july at Bergen/Norway. If Madeo should win the U23 category he will be nominated for Bergen.

wrong, he just has to finish in the top 3 under 23 and run again sub 29.30 and then he's in
Who cares about Luca Madeo we all know Evert Silva is better than him and we should all be talking about Evert not Luca! I can’t wait to watch Evert destroy Luca at outdoor nationals unless Luca is too scared to race!

Youssef wouldn't be a top 100 1500 runner in the NCAA with his current time.
He's not getting NIL money.
If you're getting NIL money in track it's most likely from sponsorships. Even then, unless you're a huge name (seriously like a Valby, Blanks, or Tuohy type of name) you're not getting a substantial amount from that.
In other news, it doesn't look like we'll be seeing a shortage of qualifiers in any event outdoor aside from maybe the 5k. The 1500 and 800 already look stacked.
The 10k probably won't have too many more qualifiers from this point on but is already pretty filled up with some fast times towards the top.
We'll have to see what Butler, Fullerton, and Ash decide to do as they could all compete pretty well in a number of events.
Fullerton will be in the Drake Relays 5k this week so that could give us a good idea.

Will there be 5k prelims if there’s less than 15 runners?
