Do we know the official injury yet? The PHT -> low back -> suspected sacral SF -> hip issues pipeline is something I always keep tabs on. His running could be in serious jeopardy.
I honestly think if you limited it to just shoe reviews, you couldn't distinguish the AI from Seth. All the shoe reviews are already extremely same-y as is. He repeats the same few talking points or phrases for every shoe, seemingly wings the whole thing and makes it up as he goes, assigns some arbitrary scores falling between 6.5-8, and often contradicts himself within the same video. Even a rudimentary AI would easily pick out phrases like "soft and bouncy midsole", "energy return", "breathability", "classic neutral daily trainer", "gusseted tongue", "lock-down", etc. Apply them to any shoe in any random order with some filler words in between and boom, you got yourself a Seth video.
*AI generated robotic voice* confirming location of shoe manufacture… D G R have requested this information… affirmative… scanning… location is Vietnam… initiating shout out to all the D G R in the factories making shoes in Vietnam… please keep buttering the bread come on now…
He got another 12k subscribers in the last 30 days, so he's doing something right.
He currently has 163k subscribers. 163k-12k = 152k. He had 152k subscribers in December of 2021. So he's gained 12k subscribers in 7 months, not 30 days lol.
More importantly, the subscriber growth rate and view counts have steadily been decreasing since they peaked around early 2020.

Yeah his channel is heading down hill. I guess maybe this latest injury could be to manufacture drama?
I didn’t like how he opened some gifts from his fans and didn’t take the time to read the note or let us see what the pictures were about. He just fast forwarded it past that. He really doesn’t care about his minions. It’s all about him.
yeah this was super disappointing from Seth. Someone took the time to put together a huge double-sided story board (presumably a kid from the photos) and he just quickly handed it off to TL to read instead so he could open more freebies from followers.
I was watching it and all I could think of is one of the earlier posts here "Seth doesn't care about his followers", he'd rather open free bread and coffee.
Another indication of just how shameless he's become (or maybe he always was). Someone invests their time and energy to put together a heartfelt positive message for him, just hoping for an acknowledgement, and he casts it aside with nary a comment. He doesn't even have the sense to just fake a little gratitude for the sake of retaining the viewership of someone who was probably a long time, emotionally invested subscriber...
Similarly, I remember when he moved out of his old house, he re-discovered a big banner a viewer made for him to celebrate when he hit 10,000 subscribers. You'd figure he'd hold on to something like that to remember the people who supported him way back when. Apparently he had chucked it in the crawl space underneath the house and only found it when he had to adjust a pipe down there before they vacated the residence.
Imagine if he had gone all in on rehab after his marathon. 2-3 weeks no running at all, getting a full checkup and lots of rehab/prehab at the gym. Starting really slow with low volume at week 4 or 5. Maybe spending a whole month ramping it up. He already knew he would duck Zegama, so why not.

subscriber growth has fallen tremendously, and weekly views are where they were at in 2019.
Butter that egg, baby! keep turning that shoedio, rat thrrrrr
Weird though, that he never reviewed the Alphafly 2 or Zoom Fly 5. Massive hype around those but I guess he only reviews shoes nowadays that are sent to him for free?

I don't think that the subscriber count means much. It's more important how many minutes people actually watch from his videos. I can imagine that the number is very low.
Can you imagine that anybody would want to watch any of his videos for the full length?

That’s because Nike sees no value in his audience. They are not driven people looking for better performances. They are hobby joggers looking for inspiration and to feel special via a para-social relationship. They will not drop $285 on a carbon plated racing shoe and many probably don’t even sign up for races. Nike will send him a Pegasus 39 or Infinity but not the performance stuff. I also suspect that they cannot be pleased with the mamby pamby quality of his reviews and scoring system either.

You're right about Seth's audience being comprised of a lot of hobby joggers in a weird parasocial relationship with him.
But Nike just want to make money. One of the best things that's happened to them is all this youtube and social media marketing normalizing a $300 shoe. They're happy to sell shoes to hobby joggers and elites all the same.
And you're wrong about that kind of person not buying Alphaflys or signing up for races. Races are cluttered with hobby joggers wearing carbon shoes. I've seen them at fun run turkey trots on someone running a 40 minute 5K. Actually, you don't even have to race to buy them, you ever see r/runningshoegeeks? Some of those fools don't even run to start with and they still buy every carbon shoe that exists.
As for why Nike didn't send him a pair? Maybe it's because every time Seth goes out for a road marathon, he fails at his goal, and he's always wearing the Next%, so maybe they didn't want to be associated with failure. He's still good on the trails (when he's not injured) and they sent him the new Terra Kiger. Maybe they just forgot. Maybe the person in charge is on this message board and thinks Seth is a goober and just didn't want to send him a pair. Who knows.

It's Running Warehouse who sends the shoes, not Nike. That's why I don't buy anything from RW. They are the ones sending the shoes to these shoetubers.
Seth probably sending TL out to the backyard with all these review shoes to rub some dirt on the sides of the midsoles and make it look like they've actually been run in.
