I don’t hear anyone saying these paid agitators can’t film or can’t blow whistles. But, you can’t block traffic or otherwise obstruct officers in performance of their duties. You can’t throw rocks at them. You can’t hit them with your car. You can’t shoot fireworks at them. You can’t interfere with an arrest even if you feel it is unjust (essentially what Pretti was doing).

How many guns did they find on people that day? Just for transparency. It would violate all kinds of federal and local laws to transport a firearm into DC, so please refresh my memory how many of the people that were arrested had firearms at the Capitol that day. (The answer is one inside the building, one outside the building (off duty DEA agent) and two other guys with rifles in their trucks (not at the Capitol itself). Babbit was unarmed. You don’t go strapped to a protest. It’s almost like Pretti’s parents told him not to engage, but he did anyway.

Lets take a trip down memory lane!

Bundy Standoff in 2014. Armed men, declaring themselves sovereign citizens, repeatedly confront BLM rangers and even seized control of a headquarters in a national wildlife refuges. Republican politicians and pundits declared these people patriots and heros.

April 30, 2020. Armed, masked right wing protesters invade the state capitol,, confront police and disrupt the legislature because they were angry over COVID. Again, full support from the right wing at large.

Kenosha, Wisconsin, 2020. Armed right wingers (described as "vigilantes" by the county sheriff) cross state lines to confront left wing protesters, create an altercation and kill two people. Rittenhouse made a national hero.

These people were all brandishing and disobeying laws/law enforcement. By their own logic, they should have been shot on the spot.
