Rupp already proving the haters wrong. Who knows how much effort this was, but his final 10k was sharp and composed. I’m quite sure he has been training on the hills in preparation for the Atlanta course. Glad to see him running smoothly again.
Everyone lining up in Atlanta knows he will sit and wait and in order to make the team you will have be ready for fast finish. Rupp May ease up knowing his place on the team is a lock, but I think he’ll demonstrate he’s ready to go again.
Walmsley did a 7 mile cool-down. Nutx.
He's not your average Joe Blow OTC qualifier, technically the defending champion of the race and arguably the best marathoner the US has in its stable.

So tired of the racism here. Stable? Really?

Yes really, stable, as in race horses, used metaphorically(you are so ignorant you don't know what that is) to refer to a group of people—often (but not exclusively) athletes—trained, coached, supervised or managed by the same person or organisation.
Your justification of your racism is as predictable as the rest of your reactionary and angry outbursts little man.

Galen has a new "O" nowadays. "Oh my God, I didn't get busted with Alberto"
Anyone have pics or video?

No we didn't. The document said we couldn't race another marathon within 4 weeks of the trials. That is, FULL marathon. Before or after.
Shoe hoopla......we’ve got a new term, shoopla!

I think it's for people who want to drop out if they are not in contention and potentially collect a payday somewhere else. They are funding everyone's travel, so it's also to make sure athletes are taking the trials seriously, instead of chipping marathons around that time, when they know the best marathoners in the country are prepping for this race. I've heard of a few who are skipping the trials to try and be the top US citizen at Boston. To each their own, I guess.
That is the sense I get by reading the actual document. Not saying whether or not I agree with it. Just bringing some clarity to the racing claim above.

Because letsrun founders have forgone traditional track and field reporting in lieu of waging an all-out war on Nike......
I agree with above statement. I wonder why the severe hate from Rojo toward a company that is supporting financially and developing tools for the dying sport of track and field. Nike is the only company keeping our sport alive for the past 20+ years. If they hate mikes business practices, what car do you drive? To point out the hypocracy of hating Nike, I’m sure Rojo happily does business with major corporations who are far more destructive to the planet or humans than Nike. But those are okay, Nike (easily the company who puts 10x more money into track and field than any other corporation) is bad. Yeah.......
Nike developed cutting edge shoe technology, Nike financially sponsors most of the best track and field athletes in the world. And Rojo thinks Nike is evil to our sport...
Severe hatred? I don't hate Nike. I hate what they did in 2016 about the shoes. I also think they should have been leaders in the anti-doping movement.
But I was listening to sports radio on Sirius XM the other day and the host said to someone. "To those of you who keep calling in and complaining I'm obsessed about XX, you know that means you have no argument against what I'm saying and that I'm right."

Walms would, although it wasn't a marathon !!! This is from

Pemberton Trail 50k
You can go your own way, go your own way. There’s 264 men qualified for the February 29 Olympic Marathon Trials, but I bet no one other than Jim Walmsley ran 50k this weekend. Walmsley did it at the Pemberton Trail 50k outside of Phoenix, Arizona. Walmsley ran an even 1:24 on each of the two 15.2-mile loops for a 2:49 finish, and then added on to get a full 31.1 miles in 2:53. This is at a trail race, and for perspective, the American 50k record–set on a road and track combination course–is Josh Cox’s 2:43 from 2011. February 29, and the later Comrades Marathon, can’t get here fast enough. Full results weren’t online at the time of this article’s writing, so can you share who won the women’s race? Full results (when available).
