Yes, the one downside was the women's coverage.

I figured out splits before the race and believe they ran the hill way too hard to have any shot at the record. The hill was at least 3% incline. I didn't get the 3 mile split but the first was 433-4. The second mile was 446 which calculates to a 411 effort. The next two downhill miles were 906. They should have been running closer to 420 miles.

Average pace to get the course record is 429/mile. You can't drop a 411 effort the second mile of the race.

Inexperience because these are mostly track guys or most road races are flat that they run?

Announcers weren't trying to make a lot of ridiculous analysis.

The "expert" was very knowledgeable and let the race be the star.

Both "newspeople" were much more knowledgeable than most.

Major networks should note THIS is how we want to watch a race.

I never once swore at my TV- that's a first! Great coverage.

The runners at the race weren't so that's why they slowed down over the next 2 miles..

If they wanted to get the course record, a perfectly paced race should have been

13:47

18:05

21:19

They were right on pace the first mile but ran the hill 10 seconds too fast and paid for it over the next 2 miles. Did they go too fast to have a chance at the 1k prime or just inexperience running a steeper hill than they normally see?

Well, they read the names correctly and had some background, at least. I agree they weren't the worst.....by far. Ian helped a lot.

Not sure of order but Chelimo, Fauble, Braun should be three that fill in the gaps in that top ten. I couldn't ID the final guy who had a pretty good finish coming down the last 600.

Bout 20 seconds separating True from Rupp. Couldn't see the clock. After, could see Rupp with a gloved hand covering his mouth and you could see him breathing deeply and controlled. Real feel, was probably high 30s, no strong sustained wind.

True's hair was sickk

Must have passed her about the same time you did around 2.5, Mary was stopped on the side crying to that guy in the white long sleeve, looked like she had just dropped out.
