There are about 13 men in the race who ran in the Olympic trials. This race also has some of the group from NJ/NY track club which features 3 or 4 sub 4 minute runners. So it's going to be a nice mix of milers, 10kers, 5kers and steeplechasers Add to that a $4,000 1st place prize and a $1,000 bonus for the first one at the 2 mile mark and they have the makings of a very interesting race. It can be heard on WTIC 1080 am.

What Olympic race are you referring to? While the field is TREMENDOUS in terms of Americans (and perhaps stronger than any one race at the trials), it is in no way deeper than any of the Olympic mid/distance races.
Why is Mary Cain even being mentioned? She wouldn't finish top 40 at NCAA's in XC and will most likely finish back with the hobby joggers that work full time jobs. The men's field is amazing though! Very impressive they were able to get these folks to race.
This race is going to be awesome. Keep in mind that there is a $4,000 prize along with an incentive to not let it simply be a sit and kick race: $1,000 for the first to hit the 2 mile mark. Also, the final 2 1/2 miles prior to the quarter mile slight uphill finish is down hill.
Outside of maybe Rupp, True, Korir, and Chelimo, anyone who makes the top five will definitely have accomplished something.
