This is going mainstream. A lot of people who don't usually follow the sport are going to hear about this. Not very many of those people are going to read Ken Goe's response on OregonLive.com. If nothing else this makes the difference between the minimal name recognition that these guys have being "oh thats the runner who won the silver medal and trains with that British guy" and "oh that's the runner who was caught using steroids." NOP can't just brush this one off. Maybe it won't ever be enough to take medals back or anything like that, but if grey-zone doping leads to a grey-zone reputation in the media that seems fair to me.

My brother nearly died of asthma when young and they gave him 'roids for a year to build up his lungs. I see nothing new or suspicious about this particular claim.

Except for the fact the prednisone is a performance enhancing drug. I don't care if he had a TUE or not, it does aid performance.

Frankly I could care less. Most of these top athletes are using some form of supplement or another, and it holds across the pro sporting world. Where there''s money to be made, people look for leverage. There is not one pro sport that doesn't have doping going on among the top players.

If AlSal's crew is doped, am I disappointed -- yes. Do I ultimately care -- not really.
