Its who you know that... knows you're good. Don't forget the last part. Those hiring also need to find the right fit for their program and the position. Some positions are more for recruiting, operations and event management. So the person hiring may be looking at those skills and personality more so than proven coaching ability. Everyone has coached a good athlete or two. You need to develop a couple of additional marketable traits to get a good job.
