2013 College Coaching Positions Open(ing)

I agree in general but I think knowing the Head Coach at Lipscomb it is more likely I wasn't what they were looking for. I know how focused on success he is and I am sure he believes the other candidates are better than I am. I hope hes right but generally it is who you know not your resume.

Siena does not care about XC. If you look at what they spend on each athlete the XC team is bottom of the heap. At the school the lowest amount they give is to xc ($1,460 per man and $1,432 per women) contrast that to $25,392 per mens basketball and $17,508 per womens basketball. The total for the xc teams is $33,301 the total for basketball is $625,993. Other total are: baseball- $180,032; field hockey-$52,379; golf- $133,132; lax- $207,251; soccer- $130,797; softball-$50,782; swimming-$34,102; tennis- $33,301; volleyball-$51,663; water polo- $45,974. I wish it was not so, but it is a Dl porgram in name only.

Actually, we should not hear of many openings until the middle or end of May.

Not true. There will be jobs posted in mid-April....at least 3 jobs I know of that will be posted (and filled behind the scenes) before May 1st.

This is a fun game...one guess I have is Wellesley College. Just saw their HC position, and it looks like they have two competent assistants in house. Si o no?

The Lipscomb job may also be more focused on religious background and similar factors than other teams since it's a small Christian school. The student rules while living on campus are very, very conservative.

Any updates on Lipscomb or word on who has the inside track?

Brevard is not open. Jack was not there this year and they already have a guy in place. West Florida is open however.
