After this display of self-righteousness, I'm going to take back my, "You've got to throw props to Flagpole now" that I posted on the other thread, especially because just the other day, you backed away from your thesis, saying you thought he had gotten away from the track too much now in his marathon focus to approach these times. You lost your conviction. Can't have a "do-over." And, I'm still going with no way on the sub-12:50. Sub-12:55, ok, but not 12:50.
Bad way to go Sagarin. I called this YEARS ago when everyone and their brother told me I was full of crap, Ritz didn't have the leg speed, he'd be lucky to run 13:10, and on and on. No backing off for me either. I said it "appeared" the focus had been put on the marathon and the 10,000 and that if so, he wouldn't break the AR (because you can't do it if you don't run it!). But I still said he had the capability if he trained for it and ran it. Well, he ran it and he broke it.
Just like I acknowledge a better team when my Buckeyes lose, you should stick to the props you threw my way. Deserved ones too brother. I called it. I was right. And it was WAY out on a limb when I said he'd do this too. Hardly anyone was saying the same thing.
