Holy crap Richard Perry, you are the biggest enabler ever!
1) Women aren't fined and sent to prison and have to pay court costs for drinking red wine with dinner! No comparison! YOU'RE AN ENABLER!!!
No I'm not but you're an idiot. I have no concern about any fines or being sent to prison or paying court costs for my wife.
2) Cocaine use isn't as bad as dog fighting or child pornography, but it is as clearly wrong as those other two things are wrong. Violence, prostitution, armed robbery, identity theft, break ins, MURDER...these things are ALL closely tied with cocaine use. YOU'RE AN ENABLER!!!
It's amazing that someone I've known for more than 30 years...nearly 100 % intimately...has managed to avoid the impending violence, prostitution, armed robbery, id theft, break ins and Murder. I'm glad the last half of my life will be so interesting.
I take it nuance is not a specialty with you?
3) I seriously hope you do keep it in mind. Her behavior is wrong and destructive, and your enabling of her is about 99% as bad. Enablers are weak. Are you afraid that she will reject you? Don't be weak.
I really have to wonder whether you read my original description of the situation. In what way was it indicated that there is even the hint of a problem which could be currently or for the future "wrong and destructive".
I take it nuance is not a specialty with you.
There's a first grade girl who moved into my son's class mid year. My wife volunteers there and this kid can barely read her own name, and she doesn't know how to do simple math like 1+2. What's the problem? Two weeks after she arrived, the police busted her parents for DEALING DRUGS!!! They deal it to people like your wife. They don't give this kid the time of day, and so she has no academic skills whatsoever; this is where future drug users and prostititues come from. YOU with your enabling and your wife with her drug use DIRECTLY SUPPORT this kind of sad sad existence. It's a shame. If we could adopt that little girl right now we would. Kids flourish in homes where the parents give a damn.
Another great story supporting the "war on drugs".
