So even wrs are not beyond a runner who "stagnated" for years. He would have been running 1:39 now if it wasn't for that. This place remains ridiculous.
Did you read the Lets Run feature on his journey?
His "journey" was from a relative nobody to a world record-holder. There's only one thing that tells us.
There have been several threads expressing scepticism about Hoey's career progression. That's the point you are ducking. He was a nobody. He never showed the kind of talent that is being attributed to him now.
Americans clearly dope just like Kenyans do - but American fans won't see that.
He’s 24th on the U20 all time list for 800m indoors, ahead of Robby Andrews, Will Sumner, Bram Som, Guy Learmonth and Mark English. That clearly demonstrates a remarkable level of talent.
It puts him nowhere near the talent of great 800m runners like Coe, Kipketer and Rudisha. And yet here we see he is now a world record-holder. Too obvious for words. Same old same old.
That doesn't clearly answer my question. Have you read the Lets Run feature on his journey?
I've read what was posted about him. None of it changes his times and makes him faster than what he ran.
Thank you for answering my question. To make sure I'm understanding correctly: are you saying you didn't read the Lets Run feature on Hoey's journey, and you are formulating conclusions about him and smearing his name merely based on his results and what people post about him on this message board?

All runners are evaluated by their results. Hoey is no more credible than athletes who suddenly came from nowhere like Hunter-Bell or Hull or even Katir. It is the kind of bs that the sport is full of now.

Hoey's progression has been nothing like Coe's, which was continuous from his late teens to early twenties. Hoey went from a nobody to a world beater overnight, in his mid twenties, like an athlete on rocket fuel.

Thank you for confirming that I understand you correctly. I believe it's low-minded to smear someone's name based only on his results and what anonymous people write about him on a message board. A fair evaluation would include taking the time to learn about the athlete's situation. You jumping to conclusions about Hoey without doing any due diligence to educate yourself about him says more about you than it does about him.

You think a Letsrun article - an opinion piece - changes the facts about what Hoey has achieved? Sorry - facts trump opinions. Especially yours.

You're forming an opinion based on a small portion of the facts.
The LR profile on Hoey wasn't an opinion piece. It was an extensive biographical feature filled with relevant facts.
You thought Hoey ran in college, which shows you know very little about him.
The decent thing to do would be to learn as many facts as possible about him before forming an opinion. Calling him a doper in a public forum from a position of ignorance is crass behavior.

Since you say he didn't run in college that makes his improvements even less believable. Athlete gets off couch to run faster than Rudisha. Thanks for that.
