Felix was a relay queen. She was nowhere close to being a GOAT of either 200m and 400m when it comes to time. Her 200m PR is 21.69 and puts her at 8th all time. 400m PR is 49.26 and puts her in #31 in World and #10 in the US.
So? You're missing the point entirely. By McRunner's logic Felix should've been a 47 runner.
How are people getting under 47.6 in the final from that semi? She eased with around 20-30m to go. She said herself. So it was worth 48.1. But she went for it for the first 370m+.
So where is she getting that extra half a second from?
She ran a 49.41 heat and a 48.29 semi. I predict between 47.9 - 48.1 in the final...with Naser in the same ballpark.
Note in the semis, Naser (23.09) & Paulino (23.17) ran faster opening 200s than Sydney (23.43) . But Sydney ran a significantly faster 3rd 100m. In the final I think Naser will go out in sub 23, and she will push the 3rd 100m much harder. It will be down to Sydney whether she follows suit, and this could mean she ties up more at the end. Paulino will be forced to go out hard because of her lane, but she doesn't look quite at her best, and if she slows down expect Anning or AN Other to overtake her.

How do YOU do it? Post after post, thread after thread, day after day, week after week, year after year accusing athletes of doping. I've never seen anyone so obsessive about anything. You probably have over a dozen posts in this thread alone. Not saying anything new. Just repeating what you've already said over and over and over again.
Surely, you must be taking something to have such extraordinary stamina to make tens of thousands of posts accusing athletes of doping. What is it? Caffeine? Something stronger?
It obviously has your attention. So that's a start.

Clowns are good at getting attention but they are not taken seriously.
Completely unbelievable. Half a second off the East German machines and more than a second in front of the rest and easing off at the end. If it's shining and glowing it's probably radioactive.

You're missing kore's point. The point is Felix was a better relay runner than open runner. She ran faster relay splits than Sanya Richards-Ross, but SRR is the woman who held the U.S. record for all these years, and SRR produced 8 individual marks better than Felix's PB.
Felix was exceptional/unique as a relay runner, so she's not a good reference point. If you look up the fastest women's 4x400m relay splits of all time, you'll see that, other than Felix, the women at the top have been the same ones at the top of the open 400m list.
Love her. Hate her. Think what you will. But you've got to admit that was damned impressive. The final will be one on the highlights of the meet.
How could anyone actually hate SML?
Understandable for divisive athletes like Lyles, love him or hate him, but SML has always been professional, humble and kind plus she has been incredible for a decade
Attention is not the same as greatness at the event. Mondo gets a ton of attention for kissing his blond wife after world records. Sha'carri gets more for weed suspension and high attention personality. Unfortunately, her performances haven't been at the same level as when she broke through on the world stage. Sydney gets attention for her looks, having an NFL husband, and being the greatest ever women's 400m hurdler ever, by far. From all this, I conclude that the next huge American track star will be a sprinter-model with a sympathetic drug suspension (mourning her mother), dating an NFL star, and possibly, though not necessarily, with a world record and Olympic gold in LA, and pregnancy.
