2025 Texas HS XC Thread

Vandergrift is dangerous with Goodwin back. The top three boys teams seem pretty clear but could be in any order. Individually, Caden should win, but you have about four or five other guys who are capable if he has an off day.

Girls is a 2 team race between FM and Bridgeland. No other team close to them.

I'm not convinced Vandergrift is a top-4 team this year. Boys race is Carroll, then Bridgeland very close.

I agree with the comments on the girls' side with FM and Bridgeland way ahead of everyone else.

Yeah Vandegrift has a strong top 3, but a bit of a drop off after that. In fact, their regular #2 guy had an off race at regions

Kai, Goodwin, Nutt as about as good as it gets 1-3 in TX and they have two freshman breaking into top 5. Vandegrift was close to Bridgeland without Goodwin. With him, they beat Bridgeland.

Lucas Lovejoy girls win 5A. Smithson Valley was a close second (they were actually leading at mile 2).

Smithson Valley was leading through 4 runners, and were a 5th runner away from winning

Grapevine boys win 5A by a lot

First state championship since 2022. In 2023 they didn’t even make the state meet (the year after they made NXN)

4A boys: crazy battle for the individual title.

Wouldn’t be surprised if Bridgeland and Flower Mound girls teams make NXN this year, unless an Arkansas team somehow sneaks in (Rogers with Beshears or Bentonville). Looks like NXN is a stretch for the Southlake Carroll girls team this year.

I’d be surprised if the Southlake Carroll boys team doesn’t make NXN though. They won state again and always peak at the right time. They’ve made it every year starting in 2010.
