Just looked it up. It appears that a protest can be filed.
"When a protest is made by or on behalf of a competitor or team which did not finish a race, the Referee shall first ascertain whether the competitor or team was or should have been disqualified for a breach of the Rule unrelated to the matter raised in the protest. Should that be the case, the protest shall be denied."
Who is the announcer breaking down the distance events? He is great
is it bill spaulding?
Rojo always raves about him. He's out there for sure, per his x account.
Spaulding was on the morning session but they switched out crews for the session starting at 3pm. I know they have Will Leer, but I'm not sure if you mean him or Swangard. We're hearing mostly Swangard and Leer commentate on the distance races. At about 3pm they had an info box listing:
Let’s be fair she is a 400/800 runner who’s not used to a field like that. Would it have made more sense to enter her in the 400? Probably.
Natalie Dumas entered the 800 to get experience running with other fast runners around her. She wouldn't get that type of experience running in lanes in the 400.
And she got the experience she needed and learned a lesson which is "when you're running against pros you shouldn't be running out in lane two running extra distance."

Who's protesting? The woman who DNF'ed did not make an honest effort to finish and qualify, so I don't see how she has an argument to be reinstated.
