Really looking forward to the 10ks but idk if I'll get to see it live. Would love to see Roe make her first team, and it'll be the first chance we get to see Nico and Blanks up against Fisher since they became 12:4x guys. Muhumed is also rocking a 27:03 pb, and while I think he probably doesn't make the team, he's a whole lot closer to the top guys than Hunter was going into last year, so it wouldn't shock me too much.
Am I reading the 800 round quals right? Top 6 from 8 person heats + 3 time quals get through, so 32 enter and 27 get through? I guess the semis are brutal with only the top 2 getting through + 3 time quals, but idk I feel like you could add another heat to the 1st round and cut a few more people. I kinda feel like this gets said every year but it just doesn't feel very cutthroat.
The 1500 heats though, 3 Qs + 3 qs in 12 person heats is gonna be brutal, definitely gonna be at least 1 pretty big upset. Heat 1 has Strand, Kessler, Koech as probably the 3 favorites, but it shouldn't surprise anyone if Teffra got top 3. Heat 3 has Nuguse (3:43 + Oly bronze), Martin (3:48i), Houser (world indoor bronze), Murphy (NCAA 1500 record holder), Ciatti (3:31 + 4th last year). If Strand goes out I will crash out. Hocker gonna be chilling in heat 2 with 11 people and probably Green as the strongest competitor.
Edit I'm gonna predict Nico-Fisher-Blanks in the 10k in that order (I think Fisher pushes the last mile hard to make sure he makes the team and Nico outkicks him). Annndddd Cranny-Kelati-Roe for the W10k. Cranny seems to always peak well for USAs.
