Surprised no one has mentioned Venuste Niyongabo, '96 5K gold. If you have not seen his effortless stride, you should call up a Youtube clip. Like water flowing down a stream.
Krum was a world indoor gold medalist over some very good mid d guys at a time slightly before the resurgence of American distance running. He raced in Europe a lot and would always be competitive. He ran very fast over 1500 (3:31ish of the top of my head) over 20 years ago when that would’ve maybe been top 5 in the world. He was a bright spot in US mid d for a couple of years, then after 2005-2008 a bunch of dudes came along and started running fast. But this dude’s star shone bright for a few years before age and injuries caught up with him and others just started getting better. By 2006-2007 krum had to compete with Bernard lagat and a younger and much improved Alan Webb, both in the 1500. Chris Lukezic, Leo Manzano, and a few others made our 1500 squad competitive. At 800 meters, Khadevis Robinson strung together a long streak of healthy seasons and eventually took over as the man to beat in the half.
I hadn’t thought about these folks in awhile so thanks for going down memory lane with me.
I couldn't tell you but I can tell you Connor Mantz has the ugliest running form I have ever seen!!
It’s his anatomy.
If you see him from a side angle he looks great, but his lower legs are shaped in a way that makes his feet flare out. When seen head on, it looks weird.
