The St. Pierres have issued a statement stating all workers were hired legally:
"On April 21, U.S. Customs and Border Patrol agents detained several of our employees. We do not know the details or reasons at this time. We have cooperated fully with their instructions.
"Our employees were hired following the federal and state employment requirements. We remain supportive of our employees and appreciative of the valuable role they play in our community, performing essential work on our farm.
"We hope this matter is resolved quickly. Any other questions will need to be directed to US Customs and Border agents."

Isn't Purrier - St Pierre MAGA? All these fckn hypocrite farmers hiring migrants and voting Trump. Enjoy the tariffs, suckers!
Yes she is, 100%, which makes this all the more hilarious. Yeah, laughing at people when they are down isn't very nice but I've adopted the when they go low, we go lower policy. She's so racist I'm surprised she would tolerate migrants working for her, but then again, I'm not surprised at all.
No, it doesn't make her a racist. Do you believe that all people who come to the USA should learn English? Well do ya, punk?

In reality, only migrants are willing to take on these 'back-breaking' jobs for minimal pay. They are not taking jobs away from any US citizen.
This x1000. We're never going to have any meaningful discussion about immigration if we don't recognize that the dairy, meat, and produce industries are absolutely reliant on migrant workers. Probably 10 years or so a NC farmer tried to hire only Americans. They all quit.
As someone that lives in the Midwest (Michigan) Think of it as picking the lesser of two evils. Even if they didn't agree with most MAGA policies, they might have still liked them much better than the policies set forth by the Biden administration, or how far left radicalized many places have become, and by extension wanted to avoid voting Kamala so it wouldn't further.
That's just my guess. While I live in a historically blue county, they voted red this time, and the consensus was pretty much over left-fatigue and extremist (They started teaching the elementary schools about transgenders and it pissed off the parents very much)
If you really wanted to stem the illegal immigration, then you target the people that hire them! Yes, prices would go up for food items but corporations would stop exploiting migrants if their officers and managers could do prison time for falsifying documents, paying sub-standard wages, etc.
Migrants would stop coming here because no one would hire them. No hotelier, restaurateur, or farmer wants to risk their personal freedom if they go to prison while their undocumenteds merely get deported.

do you really want to shut down the entire US agriculture industry and the banks that would go belly-up when most farms default on their loans? really, do you?
Half of farmworkers are illegal and in regions that number is near 100%.
And I could say something similar about the hotel and construction industries. What you are proposing is to destroy vast swaths of the US economy. Great Depression stuff.
