If Whittaker's 3:14 split is accurate, that's the fastest 1200 leg ever run on a woman's DMR, indoors or out, college or pro.
And, nice 2-flat by Willis. She's in shape as well.
Watching for BYU splits on their social media. Presuming Chamberlain ran a 4:25 or better.
Update: Juliette's 3:14-point is likely the fastest 1200 leg ever -- but not the first.
When New Balance inaugurated its The Track facility in Boston back in April 2022, the company put together an ad hoc team of MacLean - Ellis - Willis - EPSP which ran the still-standing 10:33.85 WR. Heather led off in 3:14.92.
Mike Smith with an elite stopwatch throw post-race. Has to be thinking his guys won’t make it in the 3K or something?
If Kessler had run 7:39 in his opener instead of 7:35 out of his event, people would have called for him to retire. I expected Nico to run away from this field and there were more close to him as well. even if it was an opener. I thought his legs looked heavier? And he did not look at all that smooth, just my view. Another question, did someone say Green had a pacer on his DMR anchor leg, or did I misread that, or was that mis info'ed?

How is Nico's form still so terrible?
And yes, Green had a DMR anchor pacer - Washington entered 3 DMR's: the first paced the 1200 leg through about 800, next 2 were good, then the 1600 leg paced Green for a few laps.

A fine throw, nothing great. Though, indoors does hamper performances so a full overhand chuck is probably not in the cards. Hard to tell the distance- a smarter move would have been a spike and shatter. Leave no doubt.
Might be time for Mike to give up the stopwatch and move to a clipboard snap over the knee
That kind of figures, right? You are a Liberal. no rules matter. How can you possibly think that 26 year olds running against 18-22 year olds is equitbale? Wan't that in you DEI handbook? Come on now, I would never have expected that even from you, nor the sub label on your posting name. It's stupid.
