All the fast time in last 2 years were only because Kejelcha was pushing the pace once pacemaker dropped. Unless Kejelcha sacrifice himself, the WR won't be in anyone's reach
Gebrhiwet was dumb to go with 600m in Paris. Should have just shadowed Jakob and fought for the silver. He has the next best finishing speed after Jakob

To be fair, Kiplimo and Aregawi have driven some of them from the front as well. But yes Kejelcha is typically the guy.

Last year in Monaco 6 people ran 12:48 or better, including 3 12:42s with no Kejelcha in the race.

I think it’s more he managed his energy poorly. He ran his fastest 200 from 600 to 400 instead of building like he does on the circuit. You want your last 200 to be your fastest.
…and it looks like he’s fed up with being that guy. He played today differently. Of course, no one feels great all the time and the atmosphere doesn’t seem exactly electric.

that poor split from 600 to 400 was directly caused by Jakob. Maybe stupid. if Gold was what he decided he needed to have, it was a correct roll of the dice. Pre would have been proud.
Heights always seem off in running. I've seen it in the NCAA as well. I don't know why as there's no competitive advantage to claiming a runner is 2+ inches taller than he actually is unlike in basketball or football. I watched Parker Wolfe run at trials and there's no way he's 5'9"
