The difference is most of the white kids have a family business and their parents home to fall back on after not getting the job while most black kids (equally qualified) have no pre existing household or family wealth to fall back on at all. They’re more likely to fall down a slippery slope of what his thread has called “black disadvantage”
these outcomes aren’t the same every time- there’s white kids that fall back on nothing and black kids that fall back on wealth- but we’re talking about averages here.
The function of DEI does have an expiration date when black people are more than just 13% of the population and an even smaller percentage of wealthy working class. However that time is definitely not here yet.
also as a general statement to any white privilege deniers reading this, I really wish you guys would stop acting like after slavery there wasn’t Jim Crow laws, continued racism, a civil rights movement just 35 years before the turn of the millennium, and still a ton of racists in all corners of society today. No one’s saying things aren’t better from when black people were literal slaves in this country, we’re just saying they definitely haven’t stopped being burdened by its effects.
the negative culture that black people are known for (crime, fathers leaving their children, etc) is a domino result originating back to slavery. If you can’t recognize this, then you really have to foot in this argument.
