I'm conservative and I find your post annoying. You're the biggest gas lighter when it comes to threads, even ones that don't start out political. You come off as someone who agrees with anything a radical conservative says with no fact checking. Doesn't even bother to hear other view points. The worst kind of conservative. It's not the mods bro, it's you.

This is correct. It’s a giant mistake to delete those posts. They’re funny. If you’re insulted by them, frankly, you deserve it.

The Brojos decided to delete these posts in the Csorba thread and ultimately locked the thread to new posts. Presumably they did this on the rational that they violated the posting guidelines of "1. Be civil" and/or "2. Stay on topic" which seems entirely reasonable within the stated guidelines.

My observation is that this same behavior is hardly unique to that particular thread. Moderation is always going to be difficult and involve some level of subjective decision making, but it's hard to reconcile how essentially identical behavior is treated so differently across threads.

If it were my forum, I'd take a more expansive view of "be civil", "stay on topic", and "don't post things you can't defend".

This is a very reasonable compromise.

Really, anyone with a history of frequently posting more than ten times in a thread should be restricted from making more than 10% of the posts in any thread that they don't start.

They shouldn't be allowed these denial of service attacks on other people's threads.

I just found this with a Google search for the name of a frequent poster. It probably isn't the best example, but hopefully it gives the gist of it.

I think something algorithmic would be a better way to identify real problems and control them without bias.

The prevalence of racist & violent screeds pretending to be 'conservative' have been having far too much success in displacing thoughtful traditional conservative points-of-view, to the great detriment of discourse and policy in the US.
