Please... this place is equal opportunity when it comes to haters hating.
It's not like Galen Rupp and Alberto had it easy on here. And people only say positive things about Newbury Park runners. Phenoms are going to be scrutinized.
Bull. Go back and look at any thread involving Sha'Carri Richardson. This board disproportionately hates women and any person of color.
"...hates any person of color."
LOL. I've seen thousands of posts praising Kipchoge, Bekele, Bolt, McLaughlin, Tuohy, etc. etc. etc.
she had spoken about wanting to be a doctor on podcasts. She was a top student and probably would have gone to Stanford if Alberto hadn’t swooped in on her career.
you can hate on Mary for this and that but I think this is a cool achievement
People who "hate on Mary Cain" are crazy. She was literally a kid in a room full of grown-ups. She was not the problem.
p.s. I met her only once but she seemed to be a very nice kid. Emphasis on "kid."

Sha'Carri is not hated because of her skin color, she is (rightly) criticized for her behavior. If you think her behaviors are tied to her skin color, then you are literally a racist.
Athing Mu, Yared Nuguse, Donavan Brazier, Kipchoge, Bekele, Michael Johnson, Sydney Maree, Kip Keino, Henry Rono, etc. are all beloved on these boards. The are just as much "persons of color" as Sha'Carri.
If I think Taoufik Makhloufi is a doper, that isn't because I am racist. It is because he is the subject of an investigation for doping. If I think Sha'Carri has a bad attitude and uses vulgar language, that is not racism, that is just an observation of what she says and does.

I'm sure a large "donation" from Mary Cain's rich family didn't have anything to do with it.
The average attention span of Mary Cain for the past decade has been 6 months to a year before she drops a persona and moves to the next shiny thing. What med school admissions in their right mind would waste any resources on someone as flakey as this when it takes many years to be a doctor?
Dude, just stop. You have no idea what you're talking about. Stanford rejected Larry Ellison's son for undergraduate admission despite Ellison being (a) a mega-billionaire, and (b) already a major donor to the university. On top of that, the Cains to my knowledge are essentially successful professionals but don't have the kind of money to buy admission to a university like Stanford, even if it were possible.
I'm in the UK, where CAT and aptitude testing, backed up by relevant volunteer and work experience and personal statements are vital for med school admission.
I'm just wondering what relevant experience Mary Cain has got recently while she's been busy with triathlon, Ireland and suing various individuals involved in her former running career?
Does anybody know?
I would be concerned with her going into medicine as a career, not just because she has a tendency to drop out, deliberately court attention from deliberately portraying herself as a victim and a pattern of exclusionary behaviour attracted to ultra elite levels of whatever she is doing, in advance of results. She would be interesting if assessed from a Cluster B pd perspective. I don't think she's the greatest candidate for a career in medicine, that said there are many others in the profession who are ego-driven. I would bet that one or both of her parents share the same traits, after all her parents had no objections when fame, money and Nike beckoned.
What I'm saying is that in a robust, non-biased applications procedure, those character traits would be flagged up and form a genuine concern affecting her application.

Bad example. Just a coincidence that clown show is a woman and of color..
Why would the incel losers who post on this board bother with facts when they can just blindly hate on her for no reason instead?
It takes time and effort to learn and retain facts; being a basement dwelling angry chump costs and takes nothing.
Fact: Mary Cain's professional triathlon career lasted only 1 sprint race and she has never done any more in the years since because she wasn't the best and didn't put any effort into learning how to bike. Same for her attempted comeback at running when she only did 1 track meet and then quit again because she didn't even put effort into training like others.
I mean, this is demonstrably true. I also have seen very little eviden e she did much with Atalanta after the first few months or that she is putting in the effort required to compete professionally for Ireland. She really likes to start and not finish things. It shows a pattern and patterns are more likely to be repeated than broken.

As many others, I have found ScR’s past behavior contemptible and off-putting. I have seen a markedly different attitude from her in the past year, though. I am hopeful that she stays out of all of the drama and keeps a lower profile. I would like to see her do well.
Those that keep hating her and aren’t willing to give her a second chance might not be racists or “women haters,” but they definitely are haters.
I wish I could say it's amazing that the Brojos don't see the board for what it is -- a haven for the most pathetic misogynist assclowns you can imagine. But it's not amazing, since they encourage and participate in it.

Why do you always have to double down on stuff like this instead of accepting an ounce of responsibility? "Phenoms are going to be scrutinized." Mary Cain got into a great med school & you have people saying all sorts of nasty things about that. She got into school! She didn't have any sort of running performance to weigh in on. There's nothing that warrants negative comments in this situation.
You could make a post congratulating her & say that that stuff isn't welcome on here. By being silent/posting nonsense like this you normalize it. & you're tripping if you think women don't get it tenfold on here when it comes to stuff like this. That's your culture & doubling down/claiming ignorance only encourages more of it in the future.

Cluster B personality disorders affect how and why people need attention. Learn about the causes, symptoms, and treatment options for these conditions today.
You'll have to be more specific as I don't know who you're referring to. But given that Atalanta is a registered charity in NYC with some profile (Mary Wittenburg is on the board), I'm not at all surprised that some finance bigwigs would be involved in some way. You conspiracy theorists really are working overtime.
Look up Evan Roth. He is the CEO of BBR wealth management that is the main sponsor of Mary Cain's AtalantaNYC and Evan Roth is also the main board member of Mary Cain's AtalantaNYC. Ask yourself why the CEO of a major wealth management company that only serves the very rich would be under Mary Cain's beckoning.
Imagine being this clueless about business that you think a major sponsor/board member is under the CEOs beckoning.
Sha'carri's attitude was great last year and it showed in the results, so we don't need to hear any kind of narrative about her behavior from two or three years ago. When people change, it should be acknowledged.
No. She ran fast becuase she was very telented and loved the attention. I play golf 20 hours per week not becuase I have work ethic. I do it becuase I love it. She loved running. She doesn't do anything that requires work.

Pretty incredible that you think she could run 4:04 in high school without working.

This post is absolutely insane. People don't even know this person and they are making huge blanket assumptions about her based on very little.
"start and not finish things" are you for real?
Are you talking about her running career where at 17 when she moved out to Portland she was bullied and abused into losing tons of weight in a really unhealthy way--a way that was endorsed by the sports psych her coach and her nutritionist at the time? The way that permanently damaged her body, and she was repeatedly blamed for poor results?
I guess she didn't finish her career at portland because as a teenager she was self harming and purging. Any sensible parent would pull her out of that. Mary completed her college degree at Fordham.
She persisted trying to get her damaged body back on track for years and years. How many more years were you hoping for? She entered into a nonstop injury cycle she couldn't get out of. She's 28.
Atalanta was a total flop. it was a bad idea from the onset but lots of people have failed ideas. You don't just "get into med school". You have to have top grades, and my guess is she probably had to go through a lot of pre-reqs as well.

No. I don't know what relevant experience she got because I am not her, but you are assuming she was too busy to take classes and pre-reqs based on nothing. Have you instead considered she was probably doing just that?
Not sure she has a tendency to "drop out" based on being horribly treated and then spending years trying to get back to being healthy before throwing in the towel and moving on with her life.
Mary is incredibly privileged. No one grows up in a community like Bronxville NY and comes out of it without being a little spoiled and entitled. I question and have always questioned Mary's decision to be coached by Salazar and I question what happened with her high school team. But one decision made as a teen doesn't define someone's entire adult life. Mary was a good student, and it's silly to say she shouldn't have a career in medicine based on nothing.

The hatred she gets is wild.

You are a HATER! How DARE you criticize AtalantaNYC!
