I agree with much of what you say except for your analysis of the triangle. Jackson tried to teach it to his knicks but it was too intricate for them. It's about structure and positioning your players on the court not passing the ball to an open man. Again the Knicks didn't have the discipline to follow it.

You don't know the history and nothing about the Triangle Offense. Jordan's early years had nothing to do with anything. From 1986 to 1990 Collins was the coach, the Bulls had Grant and Pippen four years before they finally got to the finals under Jackson in his first season as coach. It wasn't until Jackson installed the Triangle that they broke through, everyone in Chicago knows this. Jackson did the same thing with Kobe and the Lakers.

There are three basic offenses in basketball: 1) Princeton offense which is all four gals or guys away from the ball in constant motion. 2) Isolation/pick & roll. 3) Gals or guys standing and spaced apart.

Some announcers referred to Bulls, Michael Jordan's rookie season as: Jordan & The Jordanaires. Those guys stood apart. What is different? Triangle offense, the ball is thrown to open man and open man is required to shoot jump shots.

Triange Offense is not mostly spacing. Triangle Offense requires open man to take jump shots. Denise Rodman in Detroit and San Antonio almost only scored on dunks & layups. In Triangle Offense, open man has to shoot. Metta World Peace was the Denise Rodman of the L.A. Lakers under Phil Jackson & Triangle Offense. Under Phil Jackson and Triangle Offense, Metta World Peace was required to take open jump shots. Jump shooting was not Metta World Peace's game.

No, the triangle involves starting with 3 players on one side of the court (top of the key, wing and post) forming a triangle and 2 on the other side. Various action takes place on either side

Some people say the 3 basic types of offenses are 1. Set plays, 2. continuity offenses and 3. motion which is formless and free flowing involving reading the defense. Nowadays good teams combine elements of each or begin with 1 and switch to another.

Tonight's games between UConn and Purdue will be interesting. Purdue will feed the ball into Edey who will pivot and shoot or pass to someone open if he's doubled. UConn will employ constant movement with secondary action involving off ball screening between their wings while Clingan picks for the point and dives.
