I'm just tired of the doping arguments. Look at it as entertainment now. So, if you went to see a band like The Doors, or Led Zeppelin or the Rolling Stones, or even John Coltrane or Miles Davis, would it really matter they were on drugs. It's just a show. Watch it if you want, if you don't, walk away.
I rarely accuse athletes of doping, but this is just about the most ridiculous thing I have seen since Wang Junxia and Florence Griffith Joyner.
Sifan Hassan accomplished one of the most incredible triples in history only two years ago in Tokyo and holds 3 of the top-5 times in history, and Kipyegon just ran FIVE SECONDS faster than Hassan has ever run? FIVE SECONDS faster than anybody has ever run? Let's not forget she had a child only a couple years ago, too.
Look at the 1500 list. Kipyegon has 7 of the top-14 times in history. Who else is in the top-14? Qu Yunxia (Ma's Army), Jiang Bo (Ma's Army), Lang Yinglai (Ma's Army), Wang Junxia (Ma's Army), Tatyana Kazankina (80s Soviet Union), Sifan Hassan (arguably the greatest ever), and Genzebe Dibaba. And yet she DOMINATES them. Not even some of the most drugged up athletes in history can compete.
She doesn't even look tired. That's why it seems fake to me.
Ugh. Typical neophyte reasoning. Athletes who set WRs typically DON'T look tired afterward. Kipchoge was bouncing around after setting a WR in the bloody MARATHON, fer cryin' out loud. Look at Ryun after he broke the 1,500 WR by 2 full seconds. He was hardly on his hands and knees.
Learn something about the sport before declaring someone a cheat based on your uninformed speculation.
So if she was doping what would she look like after the race? She took 5 seconds off a world record (set in all likelihood by another doper - who had also beaten her two years ago over Kipyegon's speciality distance at the world champs). She would need to take 10 seconds off to be a doper? Nah - no one dopes, so you fans think. All's for the best in the best of all possible worlds.
When someone breaks the WR by 5 seconds, doping is reality.
As others have pointed out ad nauseam, her mile record is virtually equivalent to her 1,500 record. And her 1,500 record was only about a second faster than the previous WR.
The reason she took such a huge chunk off the mile record is because it's a distance that's rarely contested at the international level. Capiche?
Her 1500 record is absolutely doped.
Some of the toughest records are those least contested, as Komen and El G have shown.
You had posted that 20 minutes earlier. So you come back to the thread and read your own posts? Lol I bet you fap while doing it, aroused by how clever you think you are 😂

What a pathetic existence you lead.
I read others' posts - even though it is generally a waste of time, as you have just shown. So enlighten us with your intelligent views on the thread subject. Sorry - don't bother.

*Correction: the world champs where she got annihilated by Hassan was in 2019. She ran 3.54x, some full five seconds slower than what she has just achieved four years later. Wonders never cease. At that rate, in another four years she will likely run 3:44. Nothing to see here.
Kipyegon just ran FIVE SECONDS faster than Hassan has ever run? FIVE SECONDS faster than anybody has ever run?
4:12 is nowhere near equivalent to the 3:50's that had already been ran for years.
This.
So much armchair accusations without even some simple calculations. The female WR's in running events is almost a straight 90% of performance, or or slower by 11.1%
This gives the theoretical female 1,500m WR a time of 3:48.8 vs actual 3:49.1
For the mile this is 4:07.9 vs 4:07.7
Now there may or may not be a separate argument that the male records themselves are tainted, however the mile is also not out of line wrt other female records
Faith Kipyegon has been winning races for the last almost 10 years from junior World cross country,Senior workd cross contry, track races, all the way to now across the board on different surfaces. Her history is well known. Her talent and natural abilities are well known. Her performance has been consistent from her first international appearance to now.She won her first junior cross country race barefooted beating an awesome field assembled.
If you have to make wild allegations choose a different athlete.
I've followed FAith since 2012 when I first saw her during the IAAF world youth championships in Lille, France.
She was in the class of Conseslus Kipruto, Ajee Wilson and Shaune MIller.
She's the living embodiment of been there and done that.
She's literally won everything she's entered with the exception of one or two.
That is the person we are dealing with here.
Their gripe against Kelvin Kiptum is that he "came out of nowhere". That's not an accusation they can make against Faith who they've watched improve incrementally for eleven (11!) years. We saw her come short in three world record attempts in the last two years so this isn't even a Mohamed Katir or Grant Fisher-level improvement.
More corrupt than Russian oligarchs, third world dictators, arms dealers selling to both sides in a conflict, etc etc etc etc ad infinitum? You're either a bot, one of the more stupid trolls out there, or just plain stupid.
Boo hoo she ran the equivalent to her 1500m time. Women's running has lacked depth forever lmao it makes sense a star like this is emerging. America would probably have an AR faster than 4:16 if we had a semi decent youth club system and if all the money wasn't in other sports. Or if there was money in any women's sports at all. Or if there was a culture of female distance running before like 1980 lmao. Cry harder but this doesn't surprise me at all.
OK, let's assume Kipyegon is clean. Then what times would she run on drugs?
3:45, 4:00, 13:50.
LOL
She's already cheating.
I used to run in a club in England. One of our best runners (after Dave Clarke, 3:39/13:22/27:56) was Bob Holt (circa 1970s) a full time civil servant who worked 40 hours a week and trained once a day, usually 60 miles a week. His best times: 3:51/7:59/13:48/28:39/2:16:00.
Now if Bob, with the bowler hat could run those times above working a full 40 hours a week and commuting for several hours each day on the trains could achieve those times then you can understand that someone who has the luxury of being a full-time professional in the sport would have an advantage in achieving the times that she has achieved at this time.
Faith Kipyegon potential:
3:45/13:50/28:45.
I believe she's as clean as a whistle. No one in Kenya has a bad word to say about her and the general consensus is that she is absolutely above board period she trains with an army of male athletes in Eldoret on the track on a quasi permanent basis and there's absolutely no reason to think that she cannot run the times that she has achieved because she is training like athletes who run those categories of times or faster. She has a whole group of male pacemakers to take care of her needs and really that is the great advantage that she has compared with many other female athletes she is literally being dragged to a higher level and with her talent already in evidence it is absolutely not surprising that she has achieved the performances that she has established. Potential wise she should already be under 14 minutes and under 29 minutes for 10,000 meters if she prepares for those events in a serious way, in the future.
It is interesting that both Sifan Hassan and Faith Kipyegon are running in the same era and are both on very similar time scales and abilities.
As others have pointed out ad nauseam, her mile record is virtually equivalent to her 1,500 record. And her 1,500 record was only about a second faster than the previous WR.

10 years I believe they keep samples
Women's 1500m is notorious for doping but the wave lights , tracks and shoes have all combined to take seconds off times everywhere
What we're seeing right now is unprecedented across-the-board and may not be doping related
There is no particular suspicions about kipyegon apart from that she is fast
*Correction: the world champs where she got annihilated by Hassan was in 2019. She ran 3.54x, some full five seconds slower than what she has just achieved four years later. Wonders never cease. At that rate, in another four years she will likely run 3:44. Nothing to see here.
You can't actually be that stupid, to be completely oblivious of situational influence. Kipyegon was coming off maternity leave in 2019. She didn't race for nearly 22 months, from early September 2017 to late June 2019. Then she had a setback after her return race in Eugene, which kept her out for more than 2 months.
When those Doha world championships arrived, Kipyegon's lack of ideal conditioning was a big topic around here. Many of us proposed that Hassan should totally abandon her typical style to take advantage of Kipyegon's vulnerability. Why get into a cat and mouse race with a superior closer, when you can simply take it out and run a time that Kipyegon is not currently capable of?
I insisted Hassan should use that approach. Many others agreed. But Hassan had never demonstrated any inclination to use that style , including in the heats. However, once the race began that's exactly what Hassan did. Quickly to the front. Wire to wire. She was jubilant at the outcome. Kipyegon fought valiantly for silver. She was very satisfied with her effort but not the result.
Hassan's new level of 2019 is what put Kipyegon on notice that she had to improve dramatically to repeat as gold medalist. She's mentioned many times how dedicated she became. The pandemic worked in her favor, enabling 2 years instead of 1 before Tokyo.
I don't know why I bother responding to a simpleton. None of the above matters when it's a flyover. Doping cynicism requires zero talent or insight. That's why the most limited types swarm the topic.
