You believe that Jakob will be the best 5000m and 10000m runner in the world from 2024 until 2034? I cannot stop laughing…Jakob couldn’t place top 5 in World Cross Country if his life depended upon it. You might say so what? Well Jakob would be fortunate to make Norway’s Olympic team in 2032. Your understanding of this is quite limited.
Has anyone in this thread noted Jakob's 3:46 mile last year? Sure you can argue it's "not improvement" by some rubric, but it's still the fastest mile globally in some 20 years. Not too shabby. A side note, the guy also exhibits pretty good sportsmanship on a regular basis--shaking hands and acknowledging opponents after the race. Also not too shabby.

It has been mentioned, but that stat has more to do with the frequency of the race being run/paced properly than huge improvement by Jakob. Jakob exhibits good sportsmanship though some find his comments to be arrogant or brash. I’d say he’s more refreshingly honest, and I think it seems more Gjert who might have had the foot in the mouth syndrome.
Any desire to make Jakob a “heel” seems to be just from the lack of any real villain in the field. Tim literally gave Jakob a bracelet passing the torch symbolically in Tokyo as a sign of sportsmanship. Olli Hoare described him as a “lovely bloke.” Wightman is highly likable same as Hoare. Josh Kerr likes to talk smack so some in the public dislike him, but he’d probably need to race more on the circuit and improve to be a proper heel. Katir/Kipsang/Nuguse/Reynold quietly go about their business so it’s not gonna be them. So you can see people reveling in seeing Jakob fall the few times it happens, but in reality he’s quite a likable guy.
This is it folks. You have seen peak Jakob. He may maintain for a few years but you have seen the best of him. No shame in that either as he is great. He is great for the sport. But he has stopped improving. No surprise there of course.
Obviously you're wrong, but even if you were right he still has the opportunity to win world and Olympic medals and Euro and world cross medals and move up in distance as time goes on.

Yes I have acknowledged that although I am correct, Jakob may still win more global medals. The point about Jakob ceasing to improve does not preclude winning a few more global championships. This should be obvious. If Sydney McLaughlin, for example, is done improving, of course she could still win more medals.
the hairless Yak benefits heavily from looking hot and being bereft of pigment. It’s a breeze to be a great sportswoman when everyone already pulls for you

This had been said for at least 4 years now…”he will not improve”. Yet, here he is today kicking home off of a slow pace in an easy 3:32. He also looks stronger this year in build. I think he runs 3:27.
He'll run a 3:45 in Oslo and 12:40 late; he will medal in two events, probably gold in the 5. I wonder if he still works on his hurdle form...

Yep! His fans might not want to be believe it because he’s still so young, but we have to remember he’s been training at a pro level since he was prepubescent. Because he started so early he reached his peak early. Now he is stuck on a plateau while the young Americans are improving and closing the gap fast. Jakob is number 1 for now but his days on top are numbered. Look for an American sweep at next year’s Olympics!!!
The Oslo DL shows I’m right! Jakob is still stuck on a plateau. Even with the adrenaline boost from running in his country, he could only manage to run just 0.37 faster. Meanwhile Nuguse improved by FOUR SECONDS!!!! The gap is closing fast just as I said.
