We have none of the details. But 2m for a decade sounds about right. That decade is that part that makes it unique. They way overpaid to lock up potential that never showed up.

We have seen a few legit contracts. Boris Berian was getting 125k/year with chances for bonuses. Symonds talks about making 350k with contract and appearance fee in his best year before paying agents, coaches, travel, and the rest. That is a top 10 in the world guy.

If someone offered tuohy like a 500k/year for 4 years, she should go pro. 125k/year? That gets pretty borderline. Right now she is all potential. The value of someone finishing like 5th at the trials is almost zero.

She will not make close to $500k per year - not at all. I started off at $300k, and I only know (of) one person starting very close to $500k. I think even Citadel and Jane Street don't pay more than $450-475k for new grads; banks and more 'elite' (PE) firms don't pay more than $200 starting

If serious, what school and major? Average Harvard grad earns $90K. So if some earn $300K, many earn $70k to bring the average down.

This was the someone I was referring to, as I saw this on the web, but I'm 100% sure it's wrong, or at least not current. Adidas just ran Shiffrin ads in 30+ countries, and Barilla in 10+, so that's minimum $1mil each for just those 2 campaigns. Federer signed w/Barilla for $40 mil over 10 yrs. Shiffrin is in her 11th year w/Barilla now and is currently their global lead woman (the old Steffi Graf role). I would imagine given her loyalty, longevity and current peak, her deal is the same or close to Fed's.

She made 964k swiss frans this year in prize money . That a million bucks. That 515 number is probably prize money from some year. Forbes has her at 3 million in endorsements.

Course we are talking about a dominant athlete in a popular sport..

I just double checked this to be sure, but the 3 famous high paying starting jobs all currently have a remarkably similar package for top undergrads. Management consulting (McKinsey, Bain, BCG), Wall St Analyst (Goldman, Morgan Stanley) and Wall St Quant Trading (Jain Street, Susquehanna). Package is $192,000 start salary plus annual bonus. Also relocation bonus, signing bonus, and some help paying student loans can be in there. Shockingly, this can get to almost $300k in yr 1.

If you stay on plan $500k 5 yrs out. $1 mil 10 yrs out.

Beyond dominant…best of all time by an objective measure of total World Cup victories…in a sport much more popular than distance running.

Once again…Mgt. Consulting requires graduate degrees from top schools with top grades. I’ve been there and your starting salaries and starting bonus structure is way off.
