We changed the title of this thread. It initially was entirled, "Jonathan J. Marcus, What is your LetsRun Username? J. Marcus accuses Yared Nuguse of Doping Based on....." We removed the first half as we didn't think it was really relevent to the discussion at hand.
This type of analysis is nonsense. Look at Frank and Bill. Zatopek. Cram (beautiful high knee lift, but energy efficient - who cares?). The art is in the imperfections. If you want perfect, watch robots racing.
Of course, the type of graduate program matters. Getting busted for PEDs and applying to an MBA program probably isn't an issue. Applying to medical or dental school, the graduates of which prescribe regulated drugs, is another matter.
ASSUMPTION!!! Where’s the proof guys? I get your logic with med school specifically, but you still need to prove it would actually hinder his admittance.
Drug Addict yes, Drug Dealer yes. Using drugs that are only banned by a sporting body?
I'm a few years removed from applying for Dental School, but I can guarantee you the admissions committee is extremely interested in your interests and life experiences outside of academics. They love candidates who have a bredth of interests besides being a science major of some sort. He would be a fool to not emphasize his running career in the application process, It would be a feather in the hat of any dental school to have someone like Nuguse as an alumni.
Of course it’s be a great thing to bring up with a clean career, no doubt.
Perhaps with your experience you can answer the question of whether being a confirmed cheat would ruin his chances of getting in?
I want to re-chime in after thinking about this a little more and mention something. The whole irony of his tweet thread is that he himself is a PT school drop out. He publicly speaks here with confidence and authority on the subject matter here, yet he couldn't get through school or become credentialed in a relevant area of expertise.
You're dumb as hell, all jobs google your info. Obviously he can find one that doesn't care or doesn't do their homework but at the end of the day he's going to have a harder time if he cheats. You think Lance Armstrong didn't have a harder time finding business deals after his scandal?
You are dumb as hell.
LOL, Lance is doing very well for himself. You guys still haven’t named someone who ruined their chance at ever getting hired for a job because of doping.
If he’s going to run until 30 and try and go back to grad school why would they take him back if he spent all that time using his legs and not his brain. Sounds to me like committing to running means he’s never going to be a dentist.
And no, not all jobs google you, they just want you to believe that.
Keep moving the goalposts dude...
Nobody was talking about not getting hired. Even murderers can get hired. We were talking about the increased difficulty due to ruining your rep.
Lance had increased difficulty. It doesn't matter that he's doing well, he would have been better off if nobody found out about his peds. Same goes for wolf of wall street, the jackass from fyre festival, and you. Go ahead big guy. Post your name and linkedin profile out here so everyone can attach your ignorant posts to your name. Nobody cares, right?
I am coming to this thread very late and don't have time to read 7 pages of comments. Did Marcus ever say that Nuguse was doping or is this all predicated by the comment that Yared's performances "should not to be taken at face value" (and nothing else)?
Because if is only that, I think we have to demand clarification from J. Marcus. Did he mean, "given what we know about the tracks and the shoes, these performances are starting to look very out of line with historical bests?" Because if he is only saying that, I think this whole board would have to agree. If he is actually implying doping, then he needs to come out and say it.

Woah dude, what the heck did I say that got your panties in a bunch?
A poster stated that Yared would never cheat, because it would ruin his chance to go to med school. I said that’s not a real factor with whether he would cheat or not. No one has proven yet whether it would even hinder his chance of getting in.
I haven’t called Yared a cheat, I’ve begged for someone to prove me wrong on my take, I’ve even shown I understand where you guys are coming from, but to prove it true.
Sorry that most of the world doesn’t give two-ships about a doped up distance runner. It’s reality.
Ps: Lance is involved in like 10 companies based on his podcast, most of them bike related. The industry has forgiven him.
You've all been played. He did it for attention and to get Twitter hits, period. Any normal thinking runner or coach knows what he's implying is 100% BS.
He's following this thread now and he's laughing out loud, right Mr. Marcus? This is a 2023 Social Media strategy to get views...and it worked;)
Where did this clown come from? I saw him suddenly start showing up on my twitter feed, but I dont know his history with the sport or anything about him.

Now wait a minute. Frank's form was pretty darn close to perfect. And I really did think it was beautiful to watch. (After Frank and Bill ran the 1976 NYC marathon, Kenny Moore described Frank's form as "more perfect," but Bill's form, including the side-to-side arm swing and apparent overstride, was "more beautiful." And I agree that "imperfections" in form can be more enjoyable to watch, whereas seemingly perfect form can sometimes seem robotic.)

Look at the post above yours. The poster explained it very simply and he/she is correct.

The fact that there are threads after thread speculating about doping in any given athletic performance shows the sport was lost to doping long ago. But wishful thinking and outright denial still prevail over reality.
