Yeah she just posted a story and came out pretty strong saying that she trained with Shelby for 3 years and she has a pure love of the sport and she believes her. I think a lot of people are struggling to come down fully on one side or the other because most people who know her well seem to be saying that she would never dope and they believe her. I respect Kate more than the other BTC women so her opinion on it does hold a bit of weight with me. However, she could have done this as a one-off and no one really knew about it, people do change under the weight of pressure. Who knows.

Houlihan running is a track and field tragedy, what a joke. lets bring back salazar he is appealing too

If someone spits on her purposefully, that is considered assault. She would be well within her rights to retaliate how she saw fit. If someone spit on my daughter I would tell her to aim for the nose and put her weight behind the punch. Doping or not people are entitled to a certain level of human decency.

If a judge decided then where is the ruling? Is USATF just going to allow here to run with no explanation or statement? What a joke this sport has become.

What? Is there a ruling? This stuff is public, if there were an injunction we would know about it

I understand. But the meet director of the Olympic Trials legally can't ignore a US Court order. He has to let Houlihan run. But after the Olympic Trials are over, he is out of the picture and he can let all the lawyers fight it out.

Any judge in the U S. is going to ask: "Is she eligible to represent the U.S. internationally?" and the answer is "No". There is no small print in the rules regarding tainted burritos. There is a zero chance of an injunction. There is also a zero chance of Houlihan winning an appeal with the CAS before the Olympics.

As far as Kate supporting Shelby, I mean, it could be that Kate is also a doper. But the answer on that could also just be that it's harder to believe that someone you like could cheat.

Disconnecting the terms "cheater" and "bad person" in my head has allowed me to be a lot less naive about cheating in professional sports. It is entirely possible that Shelby is both (1) a cheater who hid her cheating from some or all of her friends and (2) also a really nice person who is a good friend.
