So to say she's going to run a 9:25 either just means you're clueless about track and field conversions or just being fanatical or trolling. Someone who can run a 925 can run a 1515 5K
9:25 is absurd. Did you not read the article on the front page Her mark is inferior to Cain's 2 mile.

According to LetsRun.com coaching/stat guru, John Kellogg, her mark is the 2nd-best high school girls’ distance mark if you convert it down to a 2-mile as he says it’s equivalent to a 9:40.08 2-mile and Mary Cain ran a 9:38.68 2-mile indoors in 2013.

Congratulations to Jenna, amazing completely legitimate performance. Kind of ironic that it was also mostly a solo time trial in a goofy race very similar to Tuohy's run. Clearly both could have gone faster in true competitive races. [/quote]
The idea that she could "clearly" run faster is not there for me. What's weird about this race is she nearly lost as the 2nd placer almost caught her. She was pretty maxed out as she ran almost dead even (but Yes, she could run faster probably if she had Eliud Kipchoge type pacers).

Let's not be so hasty to bury Cain and Tuohy. Cain did go on to win a World Jr 3k, a couple US adult women's 1500 and mile championships, and made the World Championship women's 1500 final. (Then she went away, lol). ...
So let's just appreciate the 2020 greats Hutchins, Thorvaldson and Brown, without belittling their predecessors.
I'm certainly not doing that. I mean come on, who runs a 5000 in HS? Cain was in the world championship final in HS. If you want to be the GOAT of HS, you need to start by beating her 2- mile mark which is much more commonly ran and then you can start to even contemplate going for her 1500 equivalent time.
