You are trying to do that both sides nonsense. Nancy Pelosi & Chuck Schumer called Pence to ask Pence to use 25th Amendment to throw Trump out of office as soon as the night it all occurred. Pence failed to take their call(s). Article(s) of impeachment have been written. Pelosi is going to go 100 mile per hour with impeachment in 21 or 22 hours. Republicans went to Nixon to get Nixon to resign. Trump can only be removed from office with Republicans on board. You should know that.

If you don't present real evidence then Trump comes off as a sympathetic character who is being scapegoated for the riots. You won't get many Republicans on board if you can't present real evidence.

I believe that once this is brought to his attention, Trump will order the flags at half mast.

However, he will release a statement that cryptically suggests the flag "maybe" is at half mast to honor the dead rioters as well.

What are you talking about? There is a mountain of evidence. The countless tweets and speeches falsely claiming the election was rigged, promoting the 1/6 protest, giving the impression that Congress could be forced to hand him the election, targeting Pence because he refused to do something that was impossible and being visibly elated while watching the attack on T.V. Just Trump not accepting the election result is enough evidence.

What is it going take for you to acknowledge that Trump is responsible for an attack on the U.S. Capitol?

I agree with agip on this but it all has to do with the poor wording of the impeachment statement. You can't prove that he sent his thugs out to attack the capital and technically he didn't. And even though its not a court proceeding as some have said, you don't want the population to think he was wrongly impeached based on poor wording.

He should be impeached due to purposeful failure to fulfill his duty to protect our government and due to purposeful behavior to endanger our government through (1)malicious lies that an election was stolen from voters, (2) Purposeful organization and incitement of a crowd to anger and to march on the capital and (3)willful failure to take appropriate steps to prevent an attack and to stop an attack once it started.

I do believe that Trump is responsible. Of course he is.

But I am not the one who needs to be convinced. We need to hear from witnesses who can attest to Trump's culpability and to his gleeful state of mind as the capitol was being desecrated.

The more who are convinced of Trump's responsibility, the more we can hope to drive Trumpism away forever.

Also, if he is ever charged in a criminal court for his role then a jury will need solid evidence to render a guilty verdict. And that is as it should be.
