This is not a conflict like in the US in the late 60s/early 70s about vietnam

neither side thinks America is the villain and needs comeuppance.

Both sides see themselves as patriots and trying to help the nation.

If Joe can find a way to channel that patriotism in positive ways, he could do some healing.

The issue of abortion is one that many liberals/socialist never try to fairly address (even though there are ways to fairly address it).
