I'd be careful trolling on there. You might get caught up in the sweep.

More new grisly highs in new cases and deaths across the nation.

Possibly the first time the 7 day average of deaths has crossed 3,000.

Biden is saying as soon as he gets in the chair he'll release all the vaccine to the states and start a federal vaccination program.

The US vaccination program continues to inch along at around 250,000 per day.

At this rate it will be 2.6 years to get to 75% of the nation vaccinated.

Although at 250,000 new cases + 250,000 vaccinations....that's a lot of immunity being created. That rate would get us to 75% immune in 1.3 years.

This is not the rate we need - we need much faster.

To be honest. I am quite enjoying it. My guy and gal won and my two guys won their Senate races. Pretty good Groundhog Day (but that is in Feb, not Jan., I think).

Kemp, GA's Governor (sort of), stated yesterday that we had the capacity to vaccinate 11,428 people a day. Shouldn't take too long at that rate to vaccinate 10 million citizens. Plus, we reported 10,000+ new cases yesterday. So, we got that going for us.

It was also reported that only 25% of vaccines delivered by the government had been ditributed. I think we're holding on to them for a rainy day.

I simply told you that it wasn't a good idea to troll on Palor (for several reasons) and that it was unethical or immoral to interfere in the my state's election (which was supported by several other posters here).

I do not believe underwhelming Democrat candidates are the reason Trump got so many votes.

Two types of Trump voters:

There is the voter that votes against Democrats no matter what because they simply hate Dems, libs or what ever.

If Reagan stayed a Democrat (which he initially was) and spoke the same rhetoric and for the same policies they would not vote for him.

And if Biden called himself a Republican they’d support him.

Trump was never a Republican but choosing to run for that party got him those voters.

Then there is the racist and hateful voter.

Many used to not vote at all. They are the big reason for any gains Trump made.

If you voted for Trump, it’s best to claim that first category and just admit you don’t like Democrats.

As far as the Democrat party failing the working class:

Their policies have sheets been more favorable to the working class.

The Affordable Care Act is especially helpful but Republicans keep tearing it down.

Dem banking regulations get submitted to help exploited workers from unfair payday loans and excessive bank fees.

These people are a lost cause. Unless Democrats stoop to the GOP's and trump's level, they are never going to be able to attract these trumpers, never. They don't want anything to do with Dems. They only want scapegoats and to feed their hate and victimhood.

These people are being outnumbered and soon states like TX and others with overwhelming numbers of eligible Dem voters will turn blue. Dems should waste no breath on these people and risk losing the more liberal voters. We need to keep moving forward and those being left behind have put their feet down and chosen their path. They want trump and they can keep him.

Monday, I think, we open it up to 65+ in addition to front line workers. But still only being able to vaccinate 11K/day is a huge problem.

NC has or will open it up to 75+. I know you can make an appointment there already, but can't remember if it is open or opening soon. But the people I know there say it's nearly impossible to get an appointment. It's like when testing was so limited that no one could get tests done. At least there, they had the intelligence to get people to schedule the 2nd appointment as soon as they get the first dose.

A friend of mine lives in Brunswick County. Population of probably 150K . She said they received 100 doses.

At some point you have to open it up to all and lessen the prioritizing. I'm not sure exactly what the actual vaccinations to capacity ratio is here. I'm sure it is not close to 1:1. Somehow have to balance getting it to high priority people while vaccinating at full capacity.

Then point out the scientific evidence that the new strain of the virus is less lethal. I'm genuinely interest.
