There have been vague reports about when and whether the National Guard was called in, whether the initial request for assistance from the Nat'l Guard was denied, and why it was Pence and not Trump who ultimately ordered the Nat'l Guard to respond.

The culprits are the people that didn't assign enough officers to protect the Capitol. The officers inside the building had the choice between being overrun and shooting people. In America, police killing dozens of protestors/rioters is not acceptable.

You make some really good points. Does the Capitol not have something like you see in movies where all the perimeters are secured? Where walls come down to preventing anyone from entering the building?
