I agree- there were several “ medical emergencies” during the insurrection leading to deaths. I would wager these were cardiac arrests amongst these rioters.

Yesterday trumpets were tweeting in admiration of all the trump supporters who showed up. Then rioting starts and all of a sudden they are not trump supporters. Some photo of a jackass wearing a headdress is a well known Q and trump supporter and he is in the senate chamber. A WV state delegate and trump supporter posted to social media his breaking into the capitol. The lady shot and killed was identified and her husband noted that she was an ardent trump supporter. Gaetz may be surprised once these people start getting outed on social media and who they really are.

I don't believe we are going to see a full-blown civil conflict but I definitely believe we are going to see a significant spike in domestic terrorism (bombings, assassination attempts, kidnappings, etc)

The majority of trump supporters will go home to their right wing echo chambers, seething with impotent rage while not actually taking overt action, but I believe a not insignificant percentage are going to continue with this and attempt to take it to another level. Remember, these are people who in many cases quite literally believe trump was sent by gawd himself to give them religious and cultural dominion over america; that kind of deeply aggrieved religious nuttiness is not just going away with a shoulder shrug and an 'oh well'.

Outside of the US military these are the most highly armed people in the country, by far. I have no idea what percentage of his supporters plan on actively continuing this, but it's definitely not zero, and a huge percentage of those who won't be actively engaged will certainly be cheering them on. Throw together that level of rage, impotence, thuggery, weaponry, add religion... presto.

I'll be frankly shocked if we DON'T see this happening.

Big loss for Ted Cruz. His inexperience in Congress showed. He thought he was clever with his solution, yet got schooled on the Constitution by his peers. I still think he will be the front-runner for the R party in 2028 and will win, but will sit out 2024.

Forum mods should be ashamed of how much BS they have allowed, especially the last year or so. Giving this morons a voice has only emboldened them further. To be clear, Trump and those republicans who enabled them should shoulder the blame for the disgrace in DC yesterday. But the mods who continue to allow nonsense conspiracy theories to be broadcast on their website will look themselves in the mirror and decide to make a few changes.

I'll take a cup half full approach to yesterday and say that, with the exception of a few soulless clowns, the temperature in the congress was vastly different. Cooler heads were prevailing and Pence, McConnell and company actually behaved in a manner fitting of their office and duties. Policies aside, it was nice to see many pro-Trump republicans actually side with our country and the constitution for a change. Maybe this is the nonsense that was needed to get things turned around.

Pro Trump clowns showed their true colors over the last 4 years. Many of them still sowed seeds of doubt in the election during their concession speeches on the floor last night. It is clearly on the electorate to rid the country of not only Trump but Trumpism. History is full of idiots being brought to power and kept in power by idiots and this country is full of idiots.

Didn't you hear, operation "warp speed" was a huge success. Now, about that election fraud....

Trump should actually get credit for the quick development and approval of the vaccine. Him loosening restrictions showed that they could get it safely tested. But, this is Trump. He doesn't care about you and me. It doesn't matter that he had ZERO plan to get it to us. Like testing, he took a "you guys figure it out" approach to leadership. So now, there is a ton of vaccine but no plan to get it to us. And all this time the numbers continue to get worse and many people, who may have been saved with the vaccine, are going to die because Trump doesn't care.

"McConnell and company", Pence & Loeffler get zero credit for admitting that Joe Biden won the election. The bard has to be much higher for those holding elected office. I'm being kind when I say complicit Rs had 1,447 days to see the light that most of the electorate saw long before trump entered the WH. 1,447 days... not like 2 weeks or a month, but almost 4 years.
