As a proud sceptic and long time runner I feel compelled to weigh in. Sri Chinmoy events may have some prestige in your area. Do some research on the guy. There are many past threads on LR. Three things stand out:
1. A true cult by any means of definition
2. Chinmoy himself was a cheat and a fraud performing in performing athletic
feats for his adoring fans.
3. Sexual predator and abuser
Any of this ring a bell as to themes on this thread? Not surprising these people would show up here. You think?
Apparently the same "magic fairy dust" that was used by PM at Badwater to miraculously jump in front of numerous runners without running by them was in the air in NY this past Monday as well!
How do you finish in front of runners who pass you lap after lap, not just once, but multiple times.....yet you finish in front of them or near them?? Or in the case of this runner's report, PM somehow got back on the same finishing lap (only 20 min behind them) even though you were at least two laps and 6 miles down. 6 miles at PMs pace is huge That is over 2 hours plus!
You don't finish 20 min after someone who is two hours plus up on you!! LM was passed numerous times by this person as well, yet he finished in front of them???
FRAUD!!!! Do they really think they are this invincible?!?!?!??
If you are made aware of a "legitimate reason", please inform the Badwater RD. I am sure the other BW runners would love to know this as well.
I guess all these runners from across the US suddenly have it out for PM.
BTW, I have been running for 20 years. Not ONCE have I ever been accused of cheating. Nobody I know has ever been accused of cheating. Who cheats at running???

I'd guess most are from the OP, but the main accuser is definitely loony.
That being said, PM did cheat, probably regularly, and the whole mega-marathoning world exposed here seems populated with loons.
I think a lot of the defenses are from Steve, but I (under other names) have been accused of being Steve on a few posts that said the PM cheated but didn't say so with enough hostility.
I hope they seriously investigate the results of this marathon. They seem quite fishy to me.
